Car wont go in gear

I can't get any car to go in gear unless I select "Automatic" transmission and step on the gas till it shifts into gear. Then it shifts and the clutch works. But if "automatic" is turned off. The car just won't go in gear. Yes I'm using the clutch. I even tried autoclutch. Nothing works except "auto trans" option. Even redid controlller setup completely.

Have you tried 'click to assign' each input? Usually fixes most peoples issues. In the controller options click the 'click to assign' every input, starting with the steering then each one down the list. Plus make sure you select the 'shifters' tab and assign both the padal shifters and then each gear individually.

Just figured this out myself. Was driving the Lamborghini and found out that it doesn't have a stick shift. Instead has paddle shifters. Make sure to set some buttons up for paddle shifting.

So do I understand this correctly? My wheel only has paddles, therefor I can only drive cars with paddles, otherwise I have to use auto? This can't be right. That would be retarded!

No you have that wrong. I use a G29 without the H shifter and with the paddles I can drive any car in manual.

All I've done is assign the paddles to up/down shift.

I got mine to work by redoing the wheel setup from scratch. Even though I never clicked the option for an H-pattern shifter the game had decided I had one.

I have had this game for years (over 1000 hours of playing. I have a Fanatec DD1 wheel, and content maqnager. Recently I am experiencing that the gears, either paddle or sequential won't work. There are some cars that work just fine, and others that act up. even after making sure that the wheel assignments are correct. Has anyone experience this?

In the setting it has an option to enable or disable H-Pattern shifter.
