New GPU, feeling good, crashes after a few laps...
SO i recently got a RX 5700XT and when I play assetto Corsa, after a few laps of any circuit, my entire PC shuts down and comes right back to life. First time ive ever bought a part new, does anyone know whats going on with my computer so I can get back to racing?

Thanks!

Could be overheating if restarting. What is the temp on the GPU before it shuts down? Use Afterburner OSD if you got it and check the fans are spinning. You might need to check the fan rpm/% boxes in the Afterburner setting to get it to show up onscreen.

Check your power supply! Maybe the pc hasnt the power needed to run! One more thing: install the latest drivers of the GPU!

Agree with Barroso. If the GPU isn't going above 60 then you might want to check your PSU is okay and has enough grunt. Drivers etc.

How many watts and what brand is the PSU? Cheap brands (usually come with a pc case) often double the amount of watts they claim.

Here's the wattage: https://www.techspot.com/review/1870-amd-radeon-rx-5700/

If you don't know or don't want to check and are sure it's this game. Try this demo and see if it crashes as well. (click on DEMO on the right)

PSU is a EVGA 600W according to XFX minimum is 500 and i should be fine with 600, installed latest drivers when I installed it. It only happens in AC which is the confusing part on my end. hope this helps.

^ Has above the min power supply. Tested on other games. Doesn't sound like anything dealing with the psu.

But since your entire PC is shutting after playing a game, needs further investigation. It's unlikely that it's the game's fault, unless you're using Win9x.

Start with syslog. Start > Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System. Looking for a big red error-type messages that occured same time as the reboot. Need to google whatever it says. Let us know what you find. There's plenty of other places to get help if nobody has an answer.
Yes weird it's only one game, but i would suggest to start up pc and just slightly touch the psu (AC-cable and those inside to be sure.
I had several weird things goi9ng on and i most often ended up with pc shut down or restarted it
self could be more or less anything , i didn't think it was my psu either, but damn me it was.
CPU temps?...system shut down could be an indication of overheating...my bios has an option to set a temp that the PC will shut down to prevent over heat damage...or might be AC is trying to use just one core or something...or CPU/memory overclocked?
Have you looked at Task Manager to see if there is anything wrong showing there?...whilst there check the CPU and memory timings are what they should be etc...and check the STARTUP tab and disable the crap that doesn't need to load with your boot...easy way to get to task manager is right click on the little windows icon (start button) and select task manager from there.
If your graphics card is AMD then hit 'CTRL-SHIFT-O' when in game to get a basic idea of temps and GPU/CPU util etc...
Sorry if you have tried all these but this is where I would start looking...if nothing else it is worth checking the basics to cross them from the list of culprits :)
EDIT - I am also assuming you have checked for virus/malware etc...Trend Micro 'Housecall' is a good place to go for a quick, free online virus check if you don't have Anti-Virus installed.
Hope I am helping...good luck.

Do the 3d mark test to see if it crashes! If it doesnt after 2 or 3 test it almost certain it isnt the psu!

--> Download OCCT
--> Run Linpack test for a few minutes
--> Run OCCT CPU test for a few minutes
--> Run GPU test for a few minutes
--> Run memory test for a few minutes
--> Run PSU test for a few minutes
Errors will be found before the system even crashes. Run each for 5 or so mins imo, but 3 should be enough.
Hey all, even good Power Supplies can fail. My money is on a bad power supply or poor connection to the power supply.

SO I went and checked Event logs like previously reccomended and It only says "The previous system shutdown at 8:18:04 PM on ‎7/‎27/‎2020 was unexpected." and all the warning type messages say something along the lines of "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}
and APPID " So im just confused overall, I have heaven bench and it does the same thing in the bench, so maybe im just running the game too intense? Never had this issue with my old *less powerful* card

If that's the only error, you're good. Every win10 rig has that exact error and it doesn't do any harm. It's fine.

That means it's either a driver or hardware issue.

Pretty easy to find if it's a hardware issue. Do the stress tests as suggested above. Somethings goin on and everybody here believes the only way you're going to figure it out is to push it to the limit. Nobody believes there's anyway it can be just this game.

You want the break the PC here to replicate exactly what it takes to cause the reboot. Like they said, monitor the cpu & gpu temps during the stress tests. Typical Intel cpu's will auto reboot at 105 degC, unsure what cpu you got. gpu's don't usually overheat as they throttle themselves down.

This game is not that demanding and it's crazy it's happening to you on that awesome gpu.

Just double checking before you stress test, make sure to install MSI Afterburner. To monitor temps, loads, and adjust gpu fan curve.
https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner

Also look at the GPU and make sure all fans are actually moving. It's probably something simple like a disconnected cable to the GPU, but I've had GPU's with defective pixel shader pipelines that locked up when it was used. Can't really assume anything, just best of luck and hope it crashes. :) Let us know what caused the crash and don't stop until you find another game or something that makes it crash.
Do things crash when running the in-game benchmark?
