I don't know if Assetto Corsa has steering assistance as an option, but it might be worth checking if it has this option (and disable it if it is there)
If in AC the sliders move correctly when you move the stick left and right and reset to centre when released, your controller is working fine and should be fine on track- sounds like you have a conflict with another input assignment.
The sliders do reset to the centre when I
release the stick, so it should work fine on track, but it doesn't. I haven't checked for a conflict, but I use the Xbox 360 default setup, so I doubt that should have conflicts.
I've yet to test another controller, but surely this one should work fine considering it's actually working properly?
Let me explain what it's like to drive. Say for instance you crash and damage your steering, so your car doesn't stay in a straight line, meaning you have to counter steer a little bit to keep it straight. It's like that, but I haven't damaged the car, since it does it straight from the pits and when I restart the session etc.
I've just tested with another controller and it still does it. So it's safe to say that there's something wrong with the game. Does anyone know what it could be?
Either that or just delete the Assetto Corsa folder in documents and reconfigure the controls again to clear the issue.
Yes, it happens with all cars. It's more prominent in the faster cars though, like the LMP1 cars. I use the 919 Hybrid as a test car, using the default setup, and it still does it. It does it in the R18 too. It's random though; it might veer to the left initially, then after tuning a corner it might veer to the right, and sometimes it might not do it at all. I don't get it.
It's beyond a joke now. I uninstalled AC and Steam, and reinstalled everything. I even tried with a keyboard after reinstalling. It still happens. It was literally working fine a few days ago.
I used to use my custom controller setting until it started going funny. So I tried the default setting and it didn't change anything.
Looks like I'm out of luck then, if it's all you can suggest.
I deleted the folder before I uninstalled the game, and just did it now (it was obviously deleted whilst uninstalling the game too).
It's been deleted 3 times and still nothing. Absolutely beyond a joke at this point.
What happens now?
I thought that this can't be the case, because I never thought that wind was turned on. But to my surprise, I tested with the wind on and off, and found that it was the wind blowing my car after all.
I'm yet to test this with my controller, as I tested with my keyboard on the drag strip. But nethertheless, I might be getting somewhere!
You are right, the issue is the wind. Turn it off and no problems. :)
Now i finally able to fully enjoy the just now bought DLC with the F2004 & SF70H.
