I know, i just updated my post, i am watching vids of it on youtubem that's amazing. And yeah, arma map-sized maps would be orgasmic.
Thanks for the link! I will comment on it linking to this thread, hoping to get some traction!
Didn't know that, well we'll figure something out.
2. open world racing games are made by big companys not by so small devs like kunos. Simulators are a niche and thats why a big company which can do open worlds like forza horizon are making the games easier so more people can play it and will buy it. Dark souls is an exception but it´s a legendary title wich everyone knows about and rpgs are way more popular then racing games.
4. no because racing is hard. In an open world where you don´t know the "track" it´s even harder.
Thats why dirt 4 has a gamer mode. Most people that drive with my simulator don´t want to race that long because they keep crashing. They only know games like need for speed and are driving in the street without going to the limit but they think that driving a racecar on the nordschleife is not much harder then driving with a vw golf to the supermarket. Then they see the reality they say it is unrealistic and don´t want to get slowly better and decide to play games in which you are good from the begining. I heard that a lot in my life that people keep saying you just need to steer and pressing a few pedals. They did not race once in their life because it is so "boring and easy".
5. i don´t think so. I think if you play easy games you think you can do this in real life too but if you play a hardcore simulator you know the risk and don´t race on the streets.
Conclusion: There are only a few simracers and i think atleast 50% of them will not like this idea and arcade users will say it is too hard so you don´t have enough buyers for this kind of game. I hope there will be such a game in the future though. Also most people on console are playing with controller and so they don´t profit from good ffb and physics. I don´t know how well AC is being sold on console but i think not many people will like this game on console. Gran turismo and pcars are just more apealing because they focus on other things that the people like more than physics like good graphic.
It's good
I appreciate you taking your time to answer the questions!
The console market wouldn't fit a sim like this idea because to be fair, they've never really had any sims when you think about it. But yes, that is an important question to consider if you're going to make a project the size of this idea, as it is a valuable market (consoles).
If forza decieded to team up with konuz (although, that would be highly "doubtable"), they could make a pretty much perfect game for everyone (into racing games/sims), open world sim-racer with maybe some physics-settings for people who want to play it as an arcade in some sense?
The technology is here, all we need now is a market for that type of game (Which FH might already have established).
Interesting, they do have a "Hardcore" mode but that's still arcadey.
Why not send Ubisoft an e-mail about that suggestion? They will most likley forward the idea to their dev-team for "The Crew 2". You could also add that it could be a future DLC maybe? Since it takes a long time to moddify the handling of all cars to their realistic counter parts, not considering the upgrades you can do for your car.
Yes it is, i have it on steam, amazing game. It seems like it's an old engine though, might not be able to handle huge maps with 20km² drivable areas however.
The dealership-part wasn't bad, MB can do it for their "AMG-section", Audi for their (R)S-models and BMW for their M-cars. Those 3 companies have a massive budget when it comes to advertisement. I would know since i was an intern at a local MB-dealership at the "economic deparment", as well as a Skoda. The difference for these two companies in the budget for advertisement is massive (MB & Skoda).
