Low FPS ~45~ + CPU > 99%... How to fix?
Specs are:
Geforce GTX 1650
i7-9750H
8GB

The part I don't understand is that the benchmark is always running perfectly. No matter what settings. But when I start a race with any amount of AI or multiplayer, I get a fps around 45 and a CPU overload > 99% prompt. Which is undrivable.

Someone know a fix to this?

For starters 16 Gigs of ram!

Well an overheated CPU will throttle down to a fraction of its rated speed and show 99% load. I had this happen to me last year. I took the computer apart and cleaned out all the dust bunnies with an anti-static vacuum cleaner made for computer repairs. Cured the problem. I stumbled across an app for android phones called Remote System Monitor. Showed me all the internal temps, speeds and percentages. It showed all 4 cores running below 1Ghz each. After cleaning they jumped back up to 4Ghz each. Perhaps you have a similar problem.

Make sure background apps are closed, AC is CPU heavy especially with lots of AI. Try tweaking your overclock a little if you're able (the CPU supports slight overclocking from what I've read), or reduce the number of AI cars.

The problem is that AC only uses 2 Cores. (I think)

While AC is running:

Open Task Manager
right Click AC
Go to Details
right click AC again
Look for Affinity
Activate all cores

That should solve the problem for 1 time

To activate it on every AC start download "Process Lasso"

Please answer if it solved your problem

16 gigs of ram is not necessary. Mate can run the game fine with worse hardware.

Might try the android app and check the stats. See what's going on in there.

Overclocking is an option, but should not be necessary.

Thnx for the help though.

Cores are all selected. Set the AC.exe on priority. Sadly did not change anything either. :(

Try changing your processor to 85% in your Windows power management plan ''maximum processor state '' if you use balanced or high performance setting.

It wont work! It seems you understand a lot of this ♥♥♥♥ to say 16gb wont help in ac! :steamfacepalm:

Do you run CSP? If yes, some people including myself were experiancing issues with it and graphic drivers, causing reduced GPU load and increased CPU loads. (which persist even when completely removing CM/CSP/SOL.) It wasn't getting up to 99% occupancy but your issue might be similar.

I fixed it by trying different CSP versions, reinstalling graphics card drivers and restarting PC. After few tries it started to work properly. (also there was no need to do clean driver installation but it would not hurt doing it once too)

AC does not usually use that much ram. 8gb is fine if you reduce replay quality/length and don't do very high driver count MP races with mods.
This of course goes out of the window when CSP memory leaks are involved... i've recently got AC to top out at 15gb of ram used (out of 16) after which it crashed mid way through 1.5h oval race. So even if you see AC taking more than 8gigs on your PC, it might be only for you!

Some Ai on some tracks with large grids (30+) can sometimes cause one or two not to go from starline, causing minor contacts, which along side all of the cars launching at once with tyre smoke, engine sounds etc, sometimes causes this 99% cpu error and strange slow down speed up effects on mine, but it always stabilizes for me within seconds as the incident dissolves and cars spread out.

Just tried this. Sadly still the same problem.

As far as I know, I do not run CSP. Reinstaling drivers I will try though.

This is logical to me, but I'm driving with low amount of AI and lower settings than necessarry and it still is laggy.

I noticed that when I start the game, the first race that I play/finish runs fine. But when I do the exact same race directly after the first. It gives me the CPU >99% error and 45 fps.
After trying so much, i'm getting a bit frustrated.

Same here. Depending on the track and race grid it drops from 60-80 to 40-50 after the first race. Only a rebooting helps. Funny thing is that it doesnt affect other games. After playing AC, all games are running fine...

This may not help your situation but no harm in looking

YAY! It worked :D. Someone should make that sticky...Thank god I didn't try 96700497 GPU driver versions combined with all the CSP ones there are.
