Yes, sorry that is the correct word. Don't know what I was thinking about linearity.
Wearing shoes does make a big difference. I drive a sports car too (and ride a sportsbike), both require firm applications of the brake to get massive stopping power under hard driving/riding, but will slow reasonably well with a gentle application. To be honest I think they did a reasonable job simulating it (logitech).
Better solution is to either get a full racing rig or get rid of the rubber or w/e is in the brake pedal that makes it hard to press... Or you could even try running clutch as brake pedal, if you drive only GT/Single seaters :P
More options is always better but IMHO i think Logitech overdid it. None of us has the addidional force of our leg/whole body to help press the pedal like it happens in real car, and without a racing rig just bracing required to generate enough braking force becomes pretty unrealistic even if the "force" level is. Also it's slow
Yeah everyone has a different feel for what they like, at first I didn't like it but I kept at it and now I find it perfect for hard straight line braking with good modulation, and the softer part of the action for trail braking etc. Everyone's mileage varies.
Edit - I'm just in a normal dining room chair and I can easily get 100% braking force without putting heavy pressure on the chair. Definitely no issue with it.
Got any weights lying around? That's what I used.
You've put the teeth down on the pedal box? I have mine in hardfloor and even then it still doesn't slide.
