Mods not working

May have been brought up a lot of times, but the problem is, some track or car mods won't appear in the game. I install them the same way as those that work (copy the folder into game folder/content/...) and I can't find a difference between mods that work and mods that don't work which may cause the issue.

Also, be careful of a folder within a folder, hence the mod does not show.

Example: you unzip "ferrari_enzo.7z"

This creates a folder called: ferrari_enzo (folder #1)
Within this folder is: ferrari_enzo (folder #2)

The second folder when you double click it should show a bunch of folders and files. This second folder is the one you paste into the assettocorsa > content > cars folder.

Everything Soul said, but also like to add that sometimes files uploaded for you to download need to be renamed if they have spacebars in the file/folder name.

Eg. Folder: ks audi s4 97 tuned
needs to be renamed
ks_audi_s4_97_tuned

for it to appear. this can be common with skins where something is Blue 01, rather than Blue_01.

Are you copy/pasting .zip and .rar files of mods to your assettocorsa/content/ folder without extracting them?

Nope. Also, neither of above helped, except I could get to play the maps I couldn't install, but not make them appear in the game.

As i said before, you can analyze mods in CM with developer mode enabled, You'll be shocked how bad some mods are. Obsolete files, old tyre model...

As far as I understood, I need the full version to analyze tracks.

Just to make it clear... Cars goes to :\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\cars and tracks goes to :\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\tracks. Some mod files are zipped without folder tree, so even if you drag and drop them to CM, it can't scan which folder goes where. Folders can't have blank space in folder names as vanherrmann described. I've seen some posts where people are complaining that mods are not working but they copied files to Documents/Assetto Corsa folder or downloaded mods for rFactor2 and pasted to AC folder. Copying files to assettocorsa/mods doesn't work without jsgme or full version of CM. About developer mode, I'm not sure if you need full version. Try to right click 6-7 times on CM version number in About tab, that's how you enable developer mode.

Yeah, I know. To be honest, for developing CM and CSP, Ilja deserves at least more than 3$. So does Peter for Sol. Those mods are game changers.

I've paid under 2$ for the game together with the JDM pack. No, I don't think I'm into buying 3$ mods, sorry...

CM, Csp and Sol are free! You can donate if you want. Sure you wont pay for mods, you don’t know how to get them to work.

I meant CM as a "mod" there. And the free version doesn't let me tinker with tracks, which is what I need.
