Using the keyboard USB passthrough with wheel
Does anyone else use the USB slot on their keyboard to plug in the wheel? I just want to make sure that my wheel isn't going to experience any input lag by using it

Wait, you can actually do that? Can't you use another USB port directly from the motherboard? And if there aren't any available, can't you use a USB-hub for this instead if you want to negate as much latency as possible?
I assume this has something to do with the wires not reaching far enough, granted I had no idea keyboards these days even have USB-ports on them.

My Corsair K95 has a USB port on it. I could use a USB port directly from the motherboard, but when dismounting my wheel it's annoying to reach behind my full tower case in the corner.

Get a short USB extension without a hub and leave the male end plugged into the MB.

Edit; I cannot remember where I found these, part number 52106, 1 meter long. USB A/A extension cable M/F.

Good solution, I have one of those already infact. I'm just interested to see how many others plug it in through the keyboard and if they experience and lag/latency issues

Using a USB extension hub with other devices plugged in has been known to cause problems with wheels. I would expect that port on your KB to function in the same manner.

Most wheel manuals will recommend plugging directly into the MB for best performance. Your system, your choice.
