Don't know what to tell you, sometimes it just happens, but it usually doesn't happen twice in a row. Hopefully in 5 days, that message won't come up again. Steam really needs to do a better job at detecting real pirates. If a false positive happened to me, I'd get my money back for sure. That's just me though.
Lets hope this doesnt happen again
If you never used a pirated copy, why are you using a name that is potentially used by cracked/pirated copies on a legit game?
Perhaps you name coincidently is the same as a banned pirated copy uses- but bans from online servers are done by the admin running that server and have nothing to do with Steam or AC developers.
Drift Junkies server for example bans people for using pirated copies bases on the profile name used, you can go and see their forum on Steam and see how many people are complaining about being banned for a pirated copy.
UPDATE: It could be that the admin of some servers are banning the default profile user name, so you need to change it to your own name and get the ban lifted or wait for it to be lifted.
One doesn't, obviously.
I have no idea what is on the list of names that a server admin chooses to select as causing a ban.
My point was that its hardly likely for someone to accidently use a pirate name, being as they are so specific but then if you look at my update, some servers ban for using the default profile name- so its rather irrelevant to know in advance what names to not use.
Don't use a pirated copy in the first place.
Unlike rFactor 1 and 2, Project CARS 1 and 2, that uses the steam master servers to check and authenticate each copy of its games, and use steam master servers for hosting online races.
Assetto Corsa uses its own master servers, and only uses steam to authenticate the game.
Anyone can download ac, and race with it online, without worrying about been kicked.
The issue arises when one uses a cracked copy of ac, then purchase a official copy, then try joining a server that they used when they was using a cracked copy of the game, with out changing their Users name/ Steam ID.
