Will this work with a PS4 controller

Hey All,

Had massive issues with getting the triggers to work on project cars, just gave up in the end. I can't be bothered with downloading third party software.

Will Assetto Corsa work straight away with a PS4 controller?

I realise a wheel is probably better but I don't have one and I wont be getting one.

Yes, the DS4 controller works flawlessly with Assetto Corsa through Steam's BPM interface. The default controller configuration (it is xbox 360 profile) that AC sets up is not usable, but you can find good starting DS4 specific setting in the Guides section.

No. Have you not used the built-in Steam support for DS4 controllers before? It makes DS4 appear as an XBox 360 controller to a game. Everything works reliably, except instead of DS4 glyphs, XBox's ABXY appear.

this doesn't work for me, i use ds4 controller for almost every game i play, but this is the only game thats given me issues. i have ds4 support enabled and have it enabled in assetto corsa's settings in big picture mode, even launching it in big picture mode doesnt work

I'm having the exact same issue. I've been trying to get my DS4 to operate with AC for a week now.

Your Steam Client offers a controller interface, it can cause problems if you are using another driver/app/emulator for your device.

There is a switch to turn these settings on/off for each game. Right click on the game in steam library and choose properties. "Steam Input Per-Game Setting" ; “Use your Global Steam Input" for on, "Force Off" to disable.

Sorry for those having trouble with DS4. Afraid I don't have further suggestions, but an observation: some games have a problem with DS4 connected via Bluetooth. Please see if plugging in the DS4 controller with a USB cable helps any.

Welcome, glad that worked for you, and thank you for the feedback. It's been a while since I played the game, but I think the in-game settings allow for tweaking joystick sensitivity and linearity. They also might need tweaking to optimize for different cars. Good luck!

Hey there, you are overthinking this. It's quite simple really- skip step 1, most people with controller already have it enabled, if not Steam will help you set it up. I posted that link in May 2018, four years ago. Now Steam is much friendlier and will help set up the controller.

Next, try to run Assetto Corsa, chances are it will work with a controller- do note that it may not work in game menu (I don't quite remember), but should work once you start a race.

If that doesn't work, then quit game and just follow Step 2 in the old post you replied to- it should not take more than a minute or two, I promise. Good luck!

I use controller for the racing . but for some things on the menu it requires a mouse click ,easy
