Does this game require a subscription like Iracing?

As asked in title - i enjoy Iracing, but it's just so damn expensive!!

If this is a cheaper version of the same game then i may just make the switch while its on special

There is no subscription cost you just have base game plus dlc content if you want it. MP and servers are free to use and you can also run your own fairly easily.

Saying that there is also no structured MP as in Iracing, there are some 3rd party options such as minorating which creates a safety rating that can then be used for servers allow higher rated people to find serverd not filled with mulpets. I use this all the time and run it on my servers works well if you sticm to AB or A only servers though general usahe is not as high as we all had hoped. Its not low on registered users just not many look specifically at joining the stricter entry servers so they dont get as good an experiance as they should.

There is another 3rd party service called SRS which tries to model itself on the iracing mp setup., I havent used this myself as its Euro and US based and from Australia I see no point with our high latency to their servers.

ACC the new kunos game will have built in ratings made by the same guy that created the minorating system for AC as he has now joined the Kunos dev team.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed response Marty, you are provided me with all the details i was unable to find myself online.

I do love that sound of this game being a hell of a lot cheaper then iracing, but unfortuantly what i love the most about iracing is the MP and how serious and competitive it is.
With iracing i love how not only is it a racing sim, but its the fact that is really stimulates the senses when its the last few laps and you are battling for position knowing the result does have an inpact on your standing one way or another.

It sounds as if that amount of competitive simulation may be lost with this game to a degree and thus have an impact on my enjoying of the sim.

For competitive mp there are many leagues in AC, not quite the same as IR with 1 night a week leagues. But for me it works well with a few good local leagues in Australia. Many more in other countries plus the lick up servers for clean casual racing and practice is enough. When ACC comes out it will likely be a bit more enticing though originally it will only be the Blancpain gt3 full season.
