Ctrl+space doesnt reset camera to driver's head position in VR
This is the first car game Im trying to run in VR and after 6 hours searching for a solution I feel like giving up. When I start it in VR the camera position is outside the car and when I turn my head it "pivots" around an axis most probably where the camera should have been in the first place. Ctrl+space resets the view in the direction im viewing but it doesnt set it to the drivers head position. The camera rotates around an axis outside the car instead of moving like it does in other VR apps. I've tried all the camera positions but they all seems to be rotating around a pivot point. Other VR apps have not been giving me this problem.

On top of this the skybox (clouds and stuff) and shadows also move around as i turn my head around. Can someone please advice what i could try before i ask for a refund?

I use a samsung odyssey+ and Im on w10 1809.

With my Oculus Rift CV1 and S it runs smoothly.
Did you choose OpenVR early support in the Display setting?

hio,

do you use vanilla AC or do you start the engine over Content Manager?
I use a VR Headset for myself and there is a button assignement for resetting the Headposition while in game. you can use this while in pit's or while on track. This function is pretty mandatory for gaming in VR.

Hi guys,
Yes I use OpenVR. At first I tried the Oculus setting but nothing happened. Just got stuck in a window with half red/black color on the mirror screen while everything was black inside the HMD. With OpenVR one half red and other half as supposed to be on the mirror screen while everything inside the HMD looks fine. Everything inside the headset is stereoscopic 3d, or VR. But instead of the camera moving around one point, like on a tri-pod sorta way where the drivers head is, it moves the camera around an axis about a meter away. Its not moving around naturally like its supposed to. Camera reset doesnt fix the camera position to the driver seat. It sets the camera outside the car. (In dcs and elite dangerous I had a similar problem where the camera was too high above the origin and I couldnt read menu's. The reset HMD didnt work. This was over come by disabling advanced settings inside VR dashboard) When I look left and right the camera position "spins" the camera position around an axis point. The camera origin acting like the axis' center. Its clearly a bug in the code and makes the game unplayable in VR. No one reported something like this before and its the only VR experience i cant find a solution for. Everything else like DCS/Elite dangerous/the lab/FORM works. Was really looking forward to a VR car experience and this simulator was my first choice. After so many years you'd expect the game to be a bit more polished. Since im the only one to report something like this it seems like I would need to solve it myself or refund it and play Project Cars instead..

I use the vanilla launcher.

Any idea what could be causing this bug?

Okay so after more fiddling I've solved the problem. It appears 3d vision in the nvidia control panel needs to be deactivated before you could have this game running properly in VR. Such a simple thing wasted many hours of my life. Atleast the next person running into the same problem doesnt have to =)

Map the look left and look right to buttons on the wheel and press them both at the same time to reset the VR orientation.

What!? really? I've been looking for a way to map the Reset VR option to my wheel for months now. Thanks for the tip.
