Ps4 Controller Issues. Please help!

So I have bought the game and started steam big-picture mode. the controller normally works. the game works fine, except that when I go to the input settings, the controller shows up as detected, but the game refuses to accept any input. DS4 windows application never works, so please don't suggest it... any help greatly appreciated!

Not sure if this the case, but on top left corner, should be an option to select either a wheel / pad / etc ... make sure you click on the controller and manually assign your binds.

yeah i have tried changing this, but the game accepts no input from the controller.

Is the controller detected by any other game ?

Yea it works perfect with all my other stuff, just not AC

Shot in the dark, but have tried to verify the integrity of the files ?
Also, try to start without Big Picture mode just to see what happens.

Right... starting without big picture changes nothing, and have tried verifying, still nothing...

You should download Content Manager for Assetto Corsa, it's a replacement for the default launcher. At first this might seem a bit intrusive but it will make your life much more easier, and I'm sure it will fix your problem. If you decided to go with this solution and you need help with something feel free to ask.

I'm sure you did, asking just to make sure, did you assign your binds and selected "Gamepad" instead of "Wheel" or whatever option was by default in Content Manager settings ?

Out of curiosity, is your controller connected through cable or wireless ?

Well, still no luck yet...

Right click on the game in steam and choose properties. "Steam Input Per-Game Setting". Wheel users will want the "Force Off" option, not sure for the PS4.
