Best way to fix a little problem?
Hi, I'm loving the game and tonnes of amazing modded content.
I've some how messed up my "BMW E30 M3 DTM" file as I was adding stuff.
Is it ok to verify game files without loosing any added mod content? Or is it best I ask a friend to send me the default e30 file?
Thanks

Verifying should be fine. I don't think it touches mods at all.

Verify only covers the official game files IIRC and seems to ignore mods you manually added even if you get CTD's. If this is one of the ***official Kunos*** cars giving grief I reckon if you remove/cut the whole folder for the offending BMW E30 from the games Car folder and place it on your desktop (temporarily) and run the Verify it will tell you there are for example - XXX amount of files missing and replace them for you. I downloaded a mod from race department and didn't realise it was going to overide my official cars and replace them. It headed south with preview images missing etc and I did this and the official car is back in place.

Thank you very much all done and workin :)
I already had a shed lpad of extra skins but I got greedy and tried to make the alfa 155, merc 190 and bmw m3 a little faster to compete with most other 90s touring car mods, but I broke it lol
Just happy to have them loading again.

Stuff up No. 2354 was the Alfa 155 that did it for me. I checked after I posted comment.

Mods and modding is a bit of an addiction for me and when it breaks and I rescue the game and I say that's it I have enough cars and tracks NO MORE just use the ingame setting to tweak. Less than 24 hours later oooooh look I gotta have that. Rinse and repeat.

That's me too haha
Never satisfied fully, I can add ballast to my own car or make a setup to be faster but I need the Ai to be faster, many cars I would love to race together but they are say 2 secs a lap slower and it's a shame, I am a modder too myself but not for AC, would love to tweak power.

For example I need the 155, 190 Merc and e30 BMW to perform the same as my BTcc mod, cavalier mod, primera mod etc as they all perform eqaully, it would be an epic ultimate classic touring car race, i have all the content I just need to tweak performances :/

Download Content Manager for Assetto Corsa install it and check it out. If you like what u see give the guy a couple of bucks donation and get the full version. Instead of the game just giving black screen or CTD at least you get a sporting chance of solving. In the cars list there will be a hazard icon to the right of it if any car has an issue and when you click on car it will either tell you what is missing, give suggestions or offer a fix. I have over 12 years experience in 3D modelling, rigging, animation and the physics and still manage to stuff something up nearly every time when I am tweaking and messing with mods. Maybe I should read the AC white paper some day.

With the AI I had the Bathurst set and cars and the falcon coupe was a disaster among the other cars so I put the V8 supercar engine/driveline in it, overcome the suspension issue and had to tame it to 90-92% strength in CM or they had finished the race and gone home before the rest of the AI car had warmed the tires up.

Brilliant ok, I have content manager I just need to get full version then, I only got it for sol but it seems it has many other advantages :D
Cool!!, I've mainly modded wreckfest, my most popular creation probably being nascar legends mod.
Thanks for the advice I will deffinately be digging into that.

I should have elaborated on the Content Manager because I am not 100% sure if in standard AC or the free CM the option is available. In Content Manager full you can click on the icon when you are setting up the AI you want in a race and choose skins. In that same window you can set the individual Strength and Aggression for each individual car in the race. With a -+ range or dead on in the main race window(It is like a [ and ] slider bar u drag. So for Bathurst I might set it to -+5% variation but in the skin panel I will do this for example

Aggresion - All 100

AI Strength
1968-71 Falcon's, Holden Monaro's and Charger's I will set too 100

I like the 77 Torana's in the race but if standard all will be leading within a few laps(a long enough race u might not see them again) I set them to 96.

The XB coupe to the 90-92. That way it balances out all the cars and while each different model of car you need to figure out the best match it is not a hard calculation coz if the taillights are disappearing over the horizon it is too fast once done and happy I just save it as a preset and never touch it again.

70-71 Ford Mustang 93-94

You finish the race all on the same lap and it should be pretty close all the way.

Wreckfest is a lot of fun but I noticed I seem to do the same style of racing in AC ACC rF2 etc etc. Nothing beats the damage model in that game, there ain't nothin like a 2ft wide mustang

This is awesome I do a similar thing! I like to reacreate the recent touring master series, using the AVRC cars and some AC legends muscle, but track must have long straight or the Aussies dominate every time.
I will definitely be locating these performance edits thanks a lot.

Yes wreckfest is great, most of my mods are about making it more of a sim racer with soft body damage, clean Ai, official liveries etc, I only ever race clean on wreckfest i just love the damage when a crash happens. 😃

Found it, very happy this is amazing, just by adding ballast alone I can make Almost any car race with Any car!!

I've even got the DTM Calibre Racing with the Alfa 155 like they did, as they were about 10 sec off before lol
Thanks again it's just what I wanted 😁

Good to hear. If you keep aggression at 100 all cars none of them are shy of a battle. Make sure your car is at the most about the middle of the pack for power, grip specs etc. you should be in for some really good racing coz you need to take every opportunity you see to get shot at a podium finish. I messed around with this for a while now and most of the setups I have there is not much time difference between 1st place and the last car to cross the finish line.
Vin Petrol May 30, 2019 @ 11:58am
For me, that's what it's all about! :D
RavingLunatic01 May 30, 2019 @ 6:54pm
If you like a good race. You - Merc 190 Evo - AI (29) Merc 190 Evo's St @100 Ag @100 - Track 30 laps @ Barbagallo(download from race department site if you don't have it. Grid somewhere in the middle of pack. You will be rubbing door handles with the AI both sides of ya car around the corners. If you have Crew Chief Jimbo will be telling you to get a move on and pass coz u getting nowhere. I find the AI is very good on this track. Save it as a preset coz you will be back :-)
