Screen freezes. controls still working
I do not know why but lately my game has started freezing after about 10-30 min of gameplay.

The sound still works and I can still hear the car rev and turn. The game still works as intended when it comes to my steering input and throttle responsive.
However, my screen freezes and the only way to fix it is to alt + f4 out of the "gameplay window" and head back to the menu to rejoin the server or session.

Have anyone had similar issues or am I the only on with this problem?

I had a similar issue after overclocking my graphics card too much.

- Clean reinstall graphics driver with DDU
- Clean the inside of your computer, it might be overheating. You can try forcing a framerate limit well below what you game normally runs at and see if this solves the issue before you get hands dirty...
- There is a small chance something broke on the SOL and/or CSP side (if you are using those) so you can try a reinstall... note reinstalling sol requires following proper manual, not just throwing new stuff over old.
- You can try also verifying AC steam files, but thats scraping the barrel for ideas...

ps: Visual freezing while game runs is generally a sign something went wrong with memory on the GPU.

I had this happening for the past few weeks on my trusty old 1080ti, more so in AC than others games. Screen would freeze, but I could hear the game in the background. No overclock, all default settings but the card had come to the end of the road. It got to the point where no game was playable and I would get hard freeze crashing within 1-2 minutes of gaming.

Hopefully that's not the issue with your GPU but if it is, get shopping for a replacement in case.

I dont have a specific place where game crashes/freezes but it happens randomly. I dont know what that problem was and the only helpful thing on entire google looks like this thread. Unfortunately i dont have enough financial freedom to replace gpu lol

Still few things to check... like there is a log folder in documents for Assetto ... there might be something useful there (low chance)

You can de-clock your GPU, especially memory frequency, with minimal impact on game performance.
Are you running with framerate limit ? if no, try it! If yes, lower it a little.
Also try disabling some mod apps... some are pretty resource intensive and can cause glitches if system is unstable. Especially stuff like P-tracker or F1 huds etc.

If you want to test differeent configurations, set a race with AI and press ctrl+C (for cars with H pattern , you need to ctrl+G first) and let the AI drive while you make Tea or dinner...

Try also without post processing or without CSP enabled...

OH and try running game in different screen mode -> fullscreen or borderless windows, sometimes one can be usntable due to driver conflitcs or some 3rd party programs running in the background... speaking of, try cleaning up as much background programs as possible and then run the game. Its not uncommon some random a$$ keyboard hub software or w/e borks the video driver and makes the PC unstable.
