Help with steering setup
I tried the game a few weeks back when there was a free weekend. I was having so many issues trying to set up the steering. I am not complaining, it looks great!
If someone can help me with the setup it would be appreciated as it seems a lot more complicated than Dirt Rally.

What type of wheel do you have? You are probably better to set up a custom profile and you can add all the buttons and functions to suit yourself.
Basic Thrustmaster Ferrari Racing Wheel Red Legend Edition.
Do you have a video or cheat sheet to follow?

I have one of those somewhere great in FM7. I reckon in AC that does need a custom setup and save it out. Totally ignore the preset list on left hand side in settings and up top centre there is a Configuration Wizard. Wheel/Custom is first tab Click on that button and it will tell you to turn wheel left - right then onto pedals and you will set the paddles shift up and shift down to input gear change. Press on the pedal and see that they are moving the right way left to right or you might need to invert them if going from right to left.

I think it has a short turning circle on the Red Legend and basically mimics the xbox controller ie 180 degrees and only has a gas and brake pedal so you will need to set it to auto clutch.

after shifters you have secondary tab where you can allocate keyboard hotkeys for various functions but make sure the main things you will want to use as far as presets you allocate to the wheel buttons so you are not fumbling around looking for keyboard keys.

*** always stay on that wheel tab and set the Main - Shifters-Secondary-Advanced.

Advanced - No FFB so not much to do in there

In advanced down on bottom left you should be able to see the wheel slider if you move it and brake etc plus any buttons you press.

Once you think you have a draft setup then towards the bottom you will see give configuration a name. Type one in there and the the green + to save at bottom right. You can now test it and if you want to make alterations you can go back tweak it and then re-save under that name or if you are like me do - MySetup1 ..............2....................3............200 until you get it right.
Thanks, so was it worth it? I still need to buy it or wait for the next free trial.

If u like Sim racing my advice would be add it to your wishlist and pounce when they put it on sale. I think Kunos had the free weekend play on the eve of the release of ACC but will probably put it on sale occasionally to draw attention to their new sim.

ACC is a different beast

AC is expandable with mods. So if you manage to get a good discount with all the DLC and then pack it with mod cars, tracks and improvement mods like SOL you will get a lot of game for the money. Also plenty of ppl still making cars, tracks and tweaks.

The Red Legend should work fine with AC and you could always upgrade later. In the game controller panel(Windows app) I think it shows up as something else (Rumble?)and may do so in other games you might get.
Cheers thanks for the great info. I just watched a video of the Quatro rally car on the Nordensheife track in AC. The videos look great, all have a realistic feel like Dirt Rally/Dirt Rally 2.

How many tracks does ACC have? I tried hunting for the info but to no avail.

Yes I think that will be the best bet to buy the ultra deluxe pack with everything.

What is SOL?

I know with WRC 7 it took a little bit of setting up too. So maybe I just need the faith for AC :)

Cheers.

ACC is basically the 2018, 2019 GT3 series so it will be limited to those cars and tracks only. I love it but you are currently looking at about 10 cars and about the same in tracks(I haven't counted but close to that).

My current library in the original AC I have 114 tracks and 546 cars

2 or 3 times I have purchased a base game I have been back upgrading within a few weeks so I am all or nothing now but it depends on a persons budget so it is good they have options.

SOL is a weather and fx app and takes care of the graphics.

You will want these apps then work from there but these 3 change the game

-Crew Chief
-Content Manager for Assetto Corsa ( free version is okay but give the guy a few bucks for the full version and you won't regret it)
-SOL weather app (available from race department which is the same place you can get numerous cars and track from the modders free)

sol messes around with your lights in a way i dont like. most of the time your lights are dull. i started using assettobynight. just download the shader patch then install assettobynight. then get deems track pack and play in winter in misty sunrise. awesome. you have to get content manager. make any donation you like to get your key.
