The automatic clutch works, automatic, meaning u dont have to use your foot to press down on the clutch pedal to shift from one gear to another. To set it u must go into the settings and tick Áutomatic Clutch' . Now u can shift like a real F1 Pro Ferrari race car pilot ;]

i think its for if you have a wheel with only paddle shifters and no 6/7 speed h pattern so that you can use the manual cars in game with your paddles at least thats what i used to use it for when i had my DFGT back in the day

I'm using a H shifter. When i enable auto clutch I destroy my gearbox with every shift up and down. But with it off, it's smooth again.

So it's only for paddle shifting?

I know this thread is ancient. But I found it looking for help. So if anyone else ends up here the solution to the automatic clutch syndrome is. Go into the "Options" menu. Select "Controls". In the box on the right side of the screen, select "Main Controls". Then un-click/disable the clutch. Without seeing the clutch peddle, the game will enable the automatic clutch. You wont have the clutch to start races. But the way race starts are set in this game, it doesn't matter anyway.

Hey, 3 years later lol. Do you know how I can disable the gearbox grind when going to 2nd or 3th gear. I really don't want to use my clutch and just want to use it like in Forza 5 but I've been looking for a solution for months now, my auto clutch doesn't work and my autoblip also. I've also deleted my clutch control in my settings...

Afaik, you cant do auto clutch/blip on H-shifter, you have to use sequential for those to work.

If you'd really want to drive H-pattern with those assists you could write an autohotkey script for it. Either by making Hpattern act as sequential and use kunos assists, or write your own assists that would fire on Hpattern gearshifts. But thats a bit of work, and since AC was a sim from the start it never had enough priority to be added natively.

there is 3rd way: mod the car to have infinite tolerance for gearshifts, thats actually the easiest proper solution but you'd have to do it for every car.

So i guess theres no way to use H shifter with auto clutch while keeping the actual clutch pedal enabled for clutch kicks only? like for drifting.

If you have both H gate shifter and paddle shift controllers the game will apply the correct one that the actual car has - as its is a simulation after all. That means if the car has a HGATE rather than paddle shift then you will need to use your HGATE and clutch pedal & If the car has paddle shift - then it will have auto clutch much as the real car would.

If you want to use paddle shift in a car that has HGATE - unplug your HGATE so you ONLY have paddle shift. Then the game will allow you to use the paddle shift as it assumes that is all your have and doesn't force you to use HGATE.
