Why would you want to `rewind` a moment during a race to `correct a mistake`?
AC is not an arcade racer and `rewinds` have no place in it as its frankly as useful/useless as a dynamic racing line because once you're used to it and its there, you rely on it too much to the point where you either cannot race without it or without it you become useless due to lack of skill.
If you're unable to learn to race the traditional way in a racing simulator, perhaps you should consider if sim-racing is for you and maybe stick with Grid/Forza et all games with `rewind features`.
That would ruin the whole meaning and challenge of hotlap.
It would be cheating.
What's the difference between hotlap and practice mode? Obviously if you used a rewind function while hotlapping it wouldn't be counted as your fastest lap...did I really need to tell someone that?
WAIT!!!
THERE IS A REWIND FUNCTION WITHIN THE PRACTINCE RUN!
JUST KIDDING!!!!
I encounter all of the biggest idiots while driving, why would I think a "simulator" would be any different?
*edit*
*Kazereal, your reply wasn't being a ♥♥♥♥ and I acted like one.* I just don't get why people would be so against something like this, otherwise forced options should be applied like damage etc. This is more a reply to the masses as they are all thinking a similar thing just waiting for the right wording to come out so they can pounce and ignore when proven wrong.*
You mean me? Yes. Learn to quote. You can chime in also on this Blackbird DK.
Tracks have certain turns or sections that are much harder than others, so to assume that they are doing the entire track wrong is just an uneducated opinion.
Still waiting on people to quote my original post how controling the temperatures like a god is somehow sim like, but rewind is absurd.
I agree with most of this. I love racing sims, I won't be the fastest, far from it, but we are missing a big thing that real life and maybe true racers have a natural grasp of. A certain mistake or feel people recognize instantly and solve, but others will drive and drive thinking this is fast and i can't figure out where I could find better time.
That's where I would find a rewind feature helpful. Taking a single turn perfectly isn't as easy as taking THAT turn perfectly...it's about taking turns 1-3, 1-5, etc perfectly, the flow of the car through those curves.
Some may say you aren't cut out for sim racing...but why? Lots of people have friends to help them etc and that other voice is their rewind, while others have nobody, but love to race. We all want to improve/ be faster...that's what makes a racer.
Yet you all want to ridicule the other person...
I've very against using a rewind function in any kind of racing format, if you bump or run off etc...that's racing.
AC with SOL and PP filters looks realy superb and in VR it is true JOY.
+1 for not rewind button. F1 and Forza was mentioned, but also considered arcade games. As well as PC3 and dirts and godzillion others.
4 year necro requesting a new feature to a game no longer in development!
ALERT!
SOUND THE SIRENS!!
