Difficulty settings
I am an older gamer (therefore slower) and I love Assetto Corsa for driving. However, I find it almost impossible to enjoy the simulation for Racing. The "Very Easy" setting seems to produce opponents that are way too fast and way too good in control for me to even finish above last place. I am often a half lap behind after only 2 laps or so. I have also noticed that AI in the Same Type Car are way faster. The AI never seems to spin out or retire for any reason.

Is it possible to create a patch that makes a "Very, Very Easy" setting for those players who are, like myself, lower in skill so that we can at leas have a fighting chance at winning or finishing in the money in a race?

By the way, I am running the Xbox One version of the game, but I thought I'd ask here because it seems that others have noticed how hard the AI settings are even for the PC version.

Again, LOVE THE SIM, but hate the racing. I go to Projecdt Cars 1 & 2 and Forza 6 for my racing sessions.

Thanks in advance for any assistance possible on this issue.

You need more practice by the sounds of it, get used to the cars and tracks and try to get your lap times down.

Only hot lapping raises you.
Brake well before corner and accel to exit of corner. Lowering gear is good for quick cornering.
Try to be a behind stalker. You can do it.

Some of the earlier races in the game are indeed pretty tough at first , stick with it you will get the hang of it , I love the game too but it is like most sims these days, you really need to be a gear head to make the most of these types of games , meaning, you need to become a mechanical engineer/technician and learn how to set up the car to maximise your top speed grip and overall performance in any given event.

Yeah I know boring and sometimes tedious , I have played the game almost 100 hours and I'm just getting used to the game , I'm a Racer not a mechanic and I play for fun and to enjoy the game, eventually I will get round to the setup side of things too, my advice to you would be to play the special events, you will find some of them are not so difficult, try to enjoy the game and concentrate less on winning. ( make sure AI strength is 80 )

Also set AI agression to it's lowest , make sure in a race you get the best possible start , get as close to the front of the pack before the end of the first lap, don't think your slow because they pull away from you between lap 2/3 this is very common in all racing games , if you give any AI an inch they will take a mile , this is true of pretty much all racing games, whilst playing solo.

Also it depends on what you mean by slow.?. If you don't see continual improvement in your laptimes it is possible AC is not the game for you.

Honestly it took me around 50 hours to become a challenge for the AI (Lol) at any level , don't feel bad about being slow, a lot of these young players these days use mods download setup configs etc etc, cause they aint so fast either Lol

Steering wheel and pedals is a better choice for control instead of gamepad. Gamepad is not suited to racing in general at all.

I'm gonna be that guy and say; git gud. Or rather, practise and get better. You have to be barely adequate to beat the AI at 80%. If you feel like "you can't", you're wrong. Just put your mind to it, it won't take too long.

Assetto Corsa has little about driving skill. As the name of the game mean Race Trim in italian.

Correct PSI, tire temperature & alignment play a large role in cornering performance. It's mostly about getting the car ready to race.

Also driving like in real life result slower time. Simulator is based on math & try to somehow simulate driving without being authentic with the driving input. Basically all you have to think is to decelerate before the apex & accelerate after the apex while following the ideal racing line.

The problem on console, it doesn't the show optimal psi by color, but you can always browse on youtube for a particular car & find the ideal pressure.

Thanks for all the constructive feedback. However, my original comment still stands. The simulation lists the difficulty setting of "Very Easy" and it is clearly NOT "Very Easy". I would still like to see a patch (to the console version anyway) to lower the difficulty on the "Very Easy" setting for players like myself. Thank you.
