Multiplayer is an awful experience in this game:
- no leaderboards
- no chat client or ability to track online friends
- tricky hosting
...i hate that.
Go into the main folder of AC and run the servermanager.exe and config your server- make note of the ports to open in your router, 9600 and 8081- once done it correctly setup, takes about 5 minutes, you save it, update the server- close the manager and then run server.exe and thats it, your server will now appear in the AC online server list and anyone can join, unless you password it or set entries for specific people.
Job done, have done it a few times over the last few days with me in the UK running the server from my PC using only 2 threads and my friend in the U.S. and has a ping around 130 and zero issues racing together, even on a modded track.
