I spent the better part of last night playing it, and it's absolutely hands-down VASTLY superior to pCARS.
Every single aspect of the game has been improved, and it even runs better than pCARS does on the same hardware...no need for a hardware upgrade!
Being a big VR user, I am blown away with how much better pCARS 2 is optimized....it's absolutely gorgeous and much smoother now.
For a Day One release, they NAILED it!!!!
Everything just works (VR, wheel, pedals, shifter, handbrake, button boxes, etc), I haven't noticed any glitches so far.
I have GT Sport pre-ordered, hopefully it's as good as the beta was, and I'm looking forward to the PSVR support.
If there were no PSVR support I'd be skipping it entirely.
Forza 7, I may buy on the PC as a PC/XBox One cross-buy if they end up supporting VR in some way or another.
Otherwise I'll skip Forza 7 until it has at least a 50% price reduction a year or two later.
I may buy this now, just want to see if i can get better Physics by changing Assist and Wheel Settings
PC2 looks as ugly as the first and I doubt the handling feels much better (I refunded early access to PC after 3 years of no progress)
So I'l stick with AC for sim racing with wheel/pedals but will probably pick up Forza 7 for casual racing with a gamepad
I decided to switch to custom and wacked every graphical setting to the max, except AA which I set to 2x and it ran 60fps, zero stutters.
Yeah, the dynamic settings are questionable. The default settings worked okay for me, but with some frame rate issues on the Dubai circuit. Then I tried lowering literally everything to minimum but with dynamic graphics still on, and the frame rate got faaaaar worse, despite running in 720p at 50% scaling... so 360p...
But then with a bit of tweaking and turning the dynamic graphics off it runs great at 4k with some minor compromises. It's odd.
I got FORZA 7 UE (Digital Copy) after all and after Configuring some settings it plays and looks very good
If you Purchased FORZA 7, Search YouTube for WHEEL SETTINGS and try some out
This made it feel so much better
Also if your having trouble with Stuttering, Make sure you Disable Tablet Mode in your WIN_10 OS
And try to Configure the VIDEO Settings and Test with the Built in Benchmark to get a ruff idea on your FPS and get it looking CANDY
Im only running it in 1080p and get an Average of 78 FPS with all Settings to MAX
thats a shame my vive worked straight off with pcars2 no problems, the issue could be your end.
Nifty. I ended up getting the ultimate edition as well, and although I feel like a bit of a sucker for paying the extra for the UE I don't really regret it. I've played it a whole heap and I've really enjoyed it, although I get that it's probably not going to appeal as much to hardcore AC fans, as it's a much more casual experience. And honestly I'd say that AC is the better game when it comes to core gameplay. But I do just love having 700 cars to collect.
I don't have a wheel so the wheel settings aren't personally an issue for me. I haven't had stuttering either, in fact it runs great at 4K on my aging computer. The problem I did have was frequent crashing, but the patch that came out today seems to have fixed that. Fingers crossed...
Anyway, yeah, it's a good game that I personally love, but it's not gonna convert any serious AC fans. And that's fine.
I am also happy with this Game
Will it Replace AC for me ? = NO

GT SPORTS is just round the Corner ;)
What I like the most is FM7 has gotten me to race, in AC I just tend to run around on my own. Even tempted to try multiplayer, I have done that in AC aswell but not a huge amount often just me and one other person. I'm not a big fan of multiplayer of anything these days, because people are d***s! In a perfect world ofc... it would be awesome.
And I could not resist having close 800 cars to modify.
I made a Volvo Amazon from 67 with 973 hp! And a Mini with 650+ hp I think and AWD! :P
That part of it I miss from the old days. Still love AC to death tho! I got all the DLC's so far so! :D
