Ferrari 288 GTO tips?
Hi, I recently bought the pack just because of this car. I have serious problems driving it.

admittedly I'm not the best driver in assetto, to say the least ;) but anyway i can drive the porsche 911 rsr, and the ruft. And I only drive cars without any form of assists, except for abs factory. And normally you learn the car, and it starts to work out.

But this ferrari 288 gto is a different beast for me. It just doesn't work out. It could be my lacking skill level, but it could also be that someone has some config tips to make it easier.

Basicly i can't handle the understeer. Even on the straight with the lightest twitch. the oversteer. It's always too much, not enough, too late, too early. We just don't get along.

So if you have any tips, I would appreaciate you post it. :P

EDIT: something I have noticed is that the moment you release the gaspedal, you lose traction. You really have to use the accelerator pedal to keep traction in a corner, or you will lose it. I never had that so much with other cars.

I would like to see a demonstration on video or replay file. I never managed to oversteer while lifting the accelerator.

Well i actually meant understeer in that example

even at the same speed when i take a corner I get understeer when i don't use the acceleration pedal. I guess i could make a video. i'll have to look into that. I never make gameplay videos.

do you have an app that shows you psi? With default setup and semislicks psi is at 35 instead of 25 so you don´t have any grip at all. I had to lower psi levels by 10 and then it worked out fine.

Can't do much without any reference.

Thanks a lot! That was it. I normally never touch setups before I've done a decent round. And yes, I already thought that the psi was very high, but my own car irl already has 28 psi, and that's a regular saloon car, so 35 didn looked liked incredibly high.

but anyway, i lowered it to front 24 and back 25, and finally I can keep it on the road now ;) So that's a start.

Thanks! That's a long read ;) but it looks good. Favorited it.

It's recommended to start with the General Driving Tips after you have adjusted the tyres pressure. You'll be baffled with the increase of pace by that alone.

It's a massive shortcut for the learning curve in sim racing.

You'll probably figure out sooner or later that sim racing is incredible forgiving.

these are my settings I use the ps4 controller, so it might not be good for a wheel but use it for reference.

Speed Sensitivity: 34
Steering Speed: 68
Steering Gamma: 1.8
Steering Filter: 0.2
Steering Deadzone: 0.18

Also if the gamma is too high this can affect your ability to hold a line too, so try a lower gamma value, I use 1.8.

The settings below might work for the wheel in the advanced settings section in options:

steering settings:
Gamma: 1.8
Filter: 0.2
Speed Sensitivity: 0.34

Thanks for the reply. But that was not the issue. I only had problems with this 288gto because of the setup of the car. Got it fixed now thanks to the setup tips mentioned.

Usually people are surprised about how poor grip cold tyres have. Adjusting tyre pressures, warming them up properly and so forth is essential. More so in cold conditions.
