T300rs for g29?
I've been thinking about sell my g29 and switch for a t300, is it worth it? How long is the t300 going to last is my biggest concern, is it really that easy to break like everyone is saying???

I bought a T300 before Project Cars was released...... have played hundreds of hours on PS4, then 200 hours of Assetto Corsa on PC, over 100 hours of Project Cars on PC, and lots of Euro Truck Simulator 2 on PS4 and PC........ never had a problem with the T-300, it has been rock solid.

Wow thats one tough t300! ;) thanks for your comment, it makes me less concerned about buying one!
beeon on T300 since New-Years 15/16
Only negative is the tendency to mildly overheat and drop-off in output-strength because of it, when run in semi-passive mode. I advise to switch it to always-on fan-mode, so that it does not overheat. The fan is actually not that loud in always-on as it spins at a constant, but lower rpm that way as opposed to ramping up to full when overheating.

But really: If I were you I would probably save up a little more and then go either CSL wheelbase or one of the TS-PC - tier products from Thrustmaster. I hear good things about them, but am waiting for a wheelbase-only release on the TM-side.

My 30cm Alcantara rim is nice. Yes the Alcantara will wear a little at the 3-to-9 position. But for the price: such a nice thing to hold on to while pretend-driving!

I don't think the Thrustmaster wheels are subject to wearing out anymore than Logitech wheels, I guess it all comes down to luck and how much you look after your stuff. If all you do is drift then that puts much more stress on any wheel, as does running the FFB strength really high and making the wheel really hot.

My T300 has been great, feels so much better than the G27 I borrowed from a mate for about 6 months.

im using T300RS GT from 6-7 weeks now and its great, im playing R3E now mainly bcause there is betteg ffb but (AC have little weaker) but wheels move very smooth and with data from wheelcheck and ffbclip in AC gameplay was vey good.Brushless motor is good and silent.
Just bought TH8A shifter and prolly next will be pedals TH3PA pro and new rim i hope for separetly solded new Thrustmaster Sparco rim or 599xx alcantara.

T300 base is very solid ill choose it over t500.

btw. i was logitech fanboi...but everything from g25 is piece of #### now.

Cool, thanks for your advice. I would love a CSL but I think its almost twice the price as a t300..

great, thanks for your comment. Isn't the pedal in gt pretty much identical to the T3PA pro? Its just the difference between F1/gt mode chage. I think I would upgrade for a CSL pedal for a huge inprovement on pedal feelings.

I have g29 and it a great wheel and had thrust master tmx and both are good as each other. I don't like belt driven feedback because you can fill it spinning very of putting for me. Thrust masters probably get complaints about braking from people that leave feedback strength 100 percent on games like project cars where feedback is to powerful even in this game 50 percent is more than enough a real cars feedback is not that strong don't know why people have feedback so high all it does is hinder you driving. Grass is always greener on the other side basically saying don't bother changing wheels it not worth i think it says it all that thrust master needs fans to cool it down.

The G25/27/29 all have that dreader optical encoder problem which prevents them to center properly. Google it. I bought a G27 and have this problem. My G27 is oit of warranty and I had to do the repair on my own. How long will it last I have no clue. Anyways, stay away from Logitech wheels. Go with the T300

you can buy those or something similar from quite a few different web sites, its a little worrying that people are making money from building spare parts for logitech products and their shocking build quality of recent years.

the newer G29 thankfully uses a different alignment sensor but my G29 started pressing all the buttons on the wheel when i rotated it quickly both left and right and the crappy plastic H-shifter (50 f.king pounds worth my ar.se) started double clicking gear, like i was selecting a gear then very quickly taking it out of gear and back in again. and this was all just after 3 months of use.

im now sporting a t500rs and its the best purchase ive made in a long time, ive been abusing the crap out of it for about 2 years so far and it still works perfectly. i wont ever buy another logitech product, not even a keyboard or mouse.

ye i owned a G25 too, and that got some hammer, lasted years and never went wrong, really good bit of kit.

i had a G27 that lasted 2 months (decoder wheel) but when i took it back to the shop they were discontinued stock so they give a G29 as a replacement, 3 months later i took it back for a full refund then went and bought the t500rs the same day.

now dont get me wrong, when i say i abused the wheels i mean really abused, its all down to drifting or should i say learning to drift, let your wheel freely spin all the way left then all the way right and back again for hours on end is basically stress testing your hardware but ive been doing it for 2 years with this t500rs and its still going strong.

ye dont ever sell your G25, its an awesome wheel and you get the good H-shifter that can be swapped to a sequential shifter with just a turn of a dial, they removed that feature altogether on their newer shifters.

I have a G25, had it years and it still works perfectly, I've kept it as a back up. I got a T300 with alcantara rim and I do really love it. For the price I think it's a great buy
