There are some very good quality scratch made mod tracks that I use much more then mod cars.
As usual with mod content the market is normally flooded with sub par minimal effort rips so its hard to filter out the noise and find the rare gems. To make a top quality mod takes lots of good data, time and someone with the ability to do it justice in game. AC official content is all very solid and it makes not so good mods stand out real bad.

What I can recommend is anything from ASR:

As well as Virtua Simulazioni, like this one:

HA! Not even close.
Kumos works with the car manufactuer, they get the actual performance data and in some cases get to drive the actual car.
Even the best car modders don't get that sort of access. Most car mods are terrible, models ripped from Forza with terrible handling, silly performance numbers. Although, there are a few, very few exceptions to that.
Here are a few.

If you want to drive fantasy cars, sure go for all the mods you find, if you want the ultimate realism, stick with the Kunos cars and a very few of the mod cars at RD.
I would recommend you stick to Race Department for decent car mods, avoid FB pages as they post absolute garbage, typically ripped from Forza with fantasy physics.
You have 1.2 hrs in Assetto Corsa. I would recommend you explore all the great cars that come with the base instal before downloading any additional content.
Its not the end of the world but i do like to use the external view now and again

Any ideas how to get rid of it?
Im really enjoying the game but am struggling to find proper working mods for 3 of my favourite racing cars, the 360 Challenge Stradale (see above), a race spec Merc CLK-GTR (found a decent road version) and the original 1997 911 GT1 (see sound issues above)
Ginetta G55 GT4 by Shaune Clarke and others - it's a masterpiece; just like all the mods you guys have listed above.
Oh and whats the deal with this Assetto Garage website? They seem to have lots of nice mods (including the reace spec CLK) but I can see any way to get the models, no links to mods or donation buttons or anything
