how to get out of car in VR
I've seen videos where guys are stepping out of the car and looking around. When I try to stand up, the dash view just keeps moving to wherever I am. Is there a lock on the camera or something?

If you have the ability to walk around and stand up with your current VR HMD, then you just do that. Stand up and walk around the car.

It sounds like either you don't have positional tracking working or when you stand up your tracking is lost.

I have a three camera 360 setup and about 1.75mx2.5m space fully tracked in that area so I can just stand up and get out the chair and walk around partially any car.

I had that once, solved it by just rebooting.

Yea...when I stand it's like I'm still sitting in the car. The tracking isn't lost....I just can't get out of the driving position. Also, a full 360 view works fine while looking around but if I move side to side, the screen will stretch a little and try to follow my head.

Ahh, you have it in the dashboard view instead of cockpit. Change the camera to cockpit.

Every camera I change to does the same thing. Head can pivot any direction but won't allow me to move front to back or side to side. Has to be a setting or something somewhere. Having no issues with other games.

Thanks everyone for helping by the way :)

Oculus Rift CV1

If your tracking positional and in every direction works whilst you are seated in your cockpit and in Oculus Home, there should be no reason why Rift won't work the same in AC.

Try deleting the AC folder in mydocs and then reconfigure it for Oculus Rift and run it again see if it solves it, its not an AC issue as the CV1 works fine in it.
