Then start Assetto Corsa from the steam game library page.
A stupid message about Assetto Corsa not supporting VR mode.... click OK and ignore it.
Then it starts and runs in VR mode.
What is stupid is having a kb + m only ui for vr mode ...
OK, you can think the message is not stupid, but I think a message warning me that the game does not support VR, is stupid, especially when the game is in the process of loading VR mode that works SO WELL!
If I do that with my T500 plugged in, it'll completely lock all USB inputs on my computer (except the Vive, which still functions perfect) and require a reboot of the computer.
This has been the issue from day one. And I know it's an issue others share. The only solution is to make sure SteamVR is running, then plug the T500 into USB. Then boot the game. Plugging in the wheel after a game is loaded brings all kinds of recognition issues. Otherwise I'm looking at a Windows reboot.
The Vive is on its own PCI USB card too. It's just my wheel and Vive will not play together unless Steam VR is running first.
Oh, and yeah, obviously the message is just stupid and needs to be ignored.
Have you tried the SteamVR beta? Its working pretty well for me.
Has something changed? I've been using my touch controllers as a pointing device in menus since the game began working with Revive. It's always worked before...
Have to try this without Revive on
Edit:
Removed Revive and menu can still be properly used with Vive Controller as a laser pointer.
Quick menu on right hand is still only mouse as touch controls don't work when in VR Driving view.
If you are unaware how to use menus without mouse with VR HMD on http://steamcommunity.com/app/244210/discussions/0/135511913384977541/
I've put instructions how to in the link
I have only used the new Vive native support since it was released, but the Revive is still installed, I have not deleted it yet, so I am not sure why you are having trouble with this. Some people reported having a black screen with Vive if Anti Aliasing is OFF.
Mine was doing same things as craigh95630 then I took the xinput, revive and openVR_api DLL files and placed them into a different folder and copied the openVR_api.dll from the system\x64 folder and pasted it into the main. Game ran perfectly after that.
Just to check...
I'm running Vive VR... and it seems to work fine once racing. I know AC runs a different process/window for menus and race. Is that still what I should be expecting? (start AC, then setup on monitor, and then only get VR when racing? (plus the delightful curved race option menu).
I've been waiting for AC to support Vive. I did get to play VR for a while with my DK1 and it was great (for it's time, ,... but, obviously, want better more with my current gen Vive.)
Thanks for anyone with knowledge of this. And, if VR doesn't happen until race, then maybe it'll help new users other to understand what to expect too.
Thanks
