mods wont show in game

Hi whenever i download a car or track mod and unzip it with winrar into \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\cars or \trackey do not show up the only car i have got to work is the driftworkshop nissan 180sx thanks for all help in advance

Did you convert the file using like a RAR converter or 7zip? If you did, go into the car mods that you downloaded, and if there is another file with the same nae of the car you dowloaded. For example: If you dowload the a car, we'll say Example Car, go into this \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\cars\examplecar and take out the file saying "example car" or what ever car you dowloaded, and put it into Cars.

I just downloaded a BUNCH of cars and tracks, and 9zip'd them to their respective folders (cars or tracks) I can see them in the folder tree, but they don't show up in the game...I've done this before with success, but had to reload Windows a couple of weeks ago, and I'm just getting around to RE-downloading my fav cars and tracks....YES, I restarted...WHY don't they show?

I always install the tracks by hand just to make sure they install into the correct path and aren't nested in another directory. Cars as well although I tend to avoid most car mods as they typically aren't up to the same quality as the original content.

Is the file path correct? Some mods have an extra folder in them, for example bridgehampton_1.1/bridgehampton. You need to paste the bridgehampton folder in content/tracks, if you place the bridgehampton_1.1 folder there it won't work since the file path is incorrect due to an extra subfolder.

If I wasn't clear:
assettocorsa/content/tracks/bridgehampton_1.1/bridgehampton - does NOT work
assettocorsa/content/tracks/bridgehampton - WORKS

Sorry if this thread is old, but does that simply mean just changing the name of the track folder then? Because mine has _v1.1 at the end, is it just a case of deleting the _v.1.1 part of the name?

No, what he meant was the folder that goes into your tracks folder (for example) needs to be the parent folder to the contents inside it. It can be called anything but when you place it into the tracks folder (or cars) it needs to be the direct folder to the data.

Have a look how kunos cars work. It will be for example assettocorsa/content/cars/ks_mazda_miata, not assettocorsa/contents/cars/ks_mazda_miata/ks_mazda_miata. That wouldn't work.

When unzipping some mods it will produce downloads/*carname*/*carname*. In this case you need to copy only the last folder into your assettocorsa cars folder.

Hope that kind of makes sense.

Do yourself a favor and download content manager,you drop a rar or zip file onto the interface and it takes over the installation for you,easy.Google it ....

ah ok, for one of my mod tracks its wasn't installing because for some reason one of the files for the track was in a different folder within the mod, so i had to delete the folder it was in and put it with the rest of the normal files in the mod.
