Good drift setup & Drift tips
What are go-to and or good setups for drift cars such as what tires, suspenion, abs, tc, and track suface conditions?
Plus, can the pro's way in on how realistic the difting in the game is?

Try the BMW M3 E30 Drift car, it drifts easily and has plenty of power to allow you to get the car to start drifting. Turn into a corner hard and apply lots of power and the rear end should step out and start drifting. I am using the "stock" set-up for this car, with traction control OFF.

Like Alien Identity said... "Just do it" :D

Its very near to realism in AC. But you dont have the important thing no simulator can give you... the "popometer"´... you have no forces pushing you. And these forces are relevant for drifting in real life.

Edit: Sry for the bad english... hope you understand what i wanted to say...
Edit 2: The differential-simulation isn´t that great in AC

Nice drifting Rumba! The BMW M3 E30 is the car to go for to drift, best drift car in the game.

Hooked On Ebonics, on the Drift Circuit try following the drift line shown in the picture in the link below.

Shameless self promotion I see ;)
But as far as track conditions and tires what do you reccommend?
And any pointers for the ae86 drift? The damn thing is schizophrenic.

I recommend using just one car to get a feel for the drifting, stick with it and keep practicing. I am using the M3 E30 drift car with STOCK settings, I change nothing. I am using OPTIMAL track conditions with all assists off.

The link a few posts back will lead you to a OneDrive doc, called "Aliens crazy drift session". It shows an Assetto Corsa replay of a 10 minute drift session on the drift track, following the line shown in the picture I posted above. Once you see the OneDrive doc you can open it with Assetto Corsa to view the replay.

I personaly drive drift sessions the same way as normal drive sessions. Track Conditions to green and all helpers off. The only things i change with the e30 are the tyres and the rear chamber. But these changes are only for tandems if i want to lead or follow. for the beginning maybe just put the 90´s tyres onto it and then practize for several days until you get the feeling.

The AE86 is a little bit harder to drift (if oyu dont have a clutch like me) because lack of power. but like all things in life... practize practize practize and it will get easier and easier.

One tipp is to set your wheel to 360°, so you don't have to be that fast with the wheel and you don't have to cross your arms. It helped me a lot learning what is happening when i drift.
Rumba Feb 28, 2017 @ 6:03am
Good tipp. Forgot i did the same when i began to drift :D
Alien Identity Feb 28, 2017 @ 6:46am
Yes the steering wheel setting to small amount of degrees is something I also did.

I finally got my drift session onto youtube.... Aliens crazy drift session.
