Update f*cked up the controls. Ancient Wheel. Solved: Change FF_SKIP_STEPS to 1 or higher
Hi.

Edit: Solved: Change FF_SKIP_STEPS to 1 or higher

-The new update completely rekt the controls. In the menu the gamelauncher is actually correctly detecting the input. But when you load a track with your Microsoft Sidewinder FFB, the controls are totally messed up like, you can press any button for shifting up OR shifting down, your steering simply does NOT work properly, like before the patch, as well as everything else does not work correctly except the pedal input I guess.-

Close the game and go in documents/assetto corsa/cfg and delete the controls.ini file. Now open the game and configure again.

They've set the default for ff_skip_steps to 0 instead of as it was at 1
Ancient wheels need it to be 1

yeah guys thanks... that did not fix anything. I said the controls input in the menu was absolutely correct. Therefore, I have bound all buttons already. The menu is basically the launcher of the game, which didnt got any neccessary update besides added car images and database entrys at all. Therefore, the update ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the games input, you are going to launch the game itself when loading a track. If I do load a track, I am in the car, none of the input is correctly anymore. Not even pedals.

There's also an option to change that in controls-wheel-advanced: check Half FFB update rate. Try this in case when you changed in the files it didn't load.

quf, thanx for your answering :) I've tryed what you said...The game does not show the cpu error anymore but game is not playable. Enormous lags in the comunication between wheel and rendering ingame...I've tryed with FF SKIP STEPS values 0/1/4/8/16 with same ugly results. I precise that before update the game was running smoothly at 80 fps with great and précise FFB on the microsoft wheel. I'm boiling inside ! \\_//

Verify game cache files in library- assetto corsa properties- local files tab. After you can also try to rename your current assetto corsa folder from Documents and then open the game to receive new user settings.

I don't understand how is it possible that the problem has been solved for the guy who open the thread and who is using the same sidewinder ffb wheel than me...I've done the same but not fixing the pb...:steamfacepalm: Also I'm talking by discord with a frind of mine having the same pb with same hardware and he has just finished a new assetto install from scratch...Trashing assettos 's my docs files etc...with no more fixing of the problem.. :/ I will try with the cache files but I 'm afraid that it won't be succefull...O_O

_Cache files verified_1 downloaded
Pb not fixed
_My docs asseto's folder renamed
Pb not solved (With FF SKP STPS =1)

Did you have any changed settings in assetto_corsa.ini from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\system\cfg
Because after the update the file got reset.

Also check your resolution and video settings in the game's menu. Make sure is set to single monitor and not oculus setting.
