Wheel profile won't save
Why do I always need to do the configuration each time I play this damn game? I take 10 minutes setting up a profile, save it and then race. When I close the game and re-launch it, I need to do the calibration all over again. This is the ONLY game where this does this. It's to the point where I'd rather uninstall is than go through this every time.
My wheel is a T500RS. I'm sure many of you can understand the frustration here. Key mapping doesn't happen in the blink of an eye.

I am using a T300 and have had no problems with the profile since I was shown how to setup my profile by an experienced user.

I was told to NOT choose a profile from the list of named profiles (in top left section), instead start at the bottom left section, make sure the pedals and steering wheel are recognised, ( some might be inverted ). Then in the top right section you can correct inverted controls and check that all pedals get 100% travel. Then in the lower right section name your profile, then save it, then load it.

Be sure to use the same usb port on your PC every time, as using different usb ports might cause your profile to be forgotten. After starting the game check to see that the profile that you named and saved is loaded, if it is not loaded then select it click "Load Profile"

Very interesting. That surely is a bug. I don't have a dedicated set up just yet for my rig, so I often unplug it. I wonder if this is causing the issues. Thank you for your detailed response. My patience is running thin with this. I jump on with friends to race, only to have to go through that set up. Cheers mate.

I just posted a G25 question maybe if it works out, you might be able to do the same. Just save it in AC's control options name it and when it writes it in a file just copy/save it and copy it in before you play. When I was going through forums I read someone saying changing USB port and or unplugging did cause issues. But not 100%, when I fixed mine I was getting so upset I lost track of what I was doing but I did change ports and did get it unfuc*ed

I posted this on the AC forums over a year ago, a Dev marked it "AS DESIGNED" WTF!!!!

So done a new build at xmas, so new PC, Win10 64, AF wheel absolutely everything was new including hard drives and decided to give AC another shot and it worked fine uptil today :( Played it last night and it was fine. Both my own named presets need all the keybindings assigned again - Accuforce wheel and buttons gone, FREX H SHIFT+ keybindings gone, pedals need assigning also. I tried READ ONLY on my controller save but Simcommander wont launch.

It kept my brake gamma which it always has done so what ever is causing it I can say with all certainty its not our hardware that keeps cocking it up.

Something is overwriting or defaulting part of our saved file. Would you agree?

This is why you are losing your assignments in your profile. If you remove the USB devices and plug them into another port- your assignment is usually lost because it no longer matches the configuration you saved.

A way to avoid this is to make sure you plug your hardware into the same USB ports everytime that matches your saved configuration- if you load AC and check the profile and it says `unassigned` then you have either a piece of hardware no ready or its plugged into a different USB port that the profile expects- simply just close AC, double-check every piece of hardware saved in the profile is plugged into the same USB ports and is all fuylly working. What I usually do prior to plugging in my wheel to use AC is to go into the wheel settings in Windows (for me its Fanatecs software) and pressing the all the pedals and wheel buttons once to make sure Windows confirms they are ready- then I load AC and its fine.

No. I disagree. Once you have a profile saved, or many and all the hardware matches what the profile expects, nothing assigned or setup in the profile changes- if it does for you, you have another issue, maybe USB related but AC is not at fault because the developers have stated `its designed that way`.

I actually lost mine last night too, had to reassign everything even though I have re-loaded my saved profile. Very strange, just happened out of the blue.

I'm not certain how I feel about this being designed that way..Many of us use different hardware while gaming. I have a control stick for a flight sim as well that I use. I need to unplug my devices in order to play different games. I guess I can make a mental note from now on to ensure that I'm plugging the wheel into the same port, but it's not ideal. I wasn't aware of this, and I know for sure that other games are not set up like this. In any event, it's not a deal breaker now that I know this, just a bit of a headache for those unfamiliar with this. Thanks for your insight.

I accept is far from ideal and I accept having to put devices into the same USB ports each time. The reasons for me are one of having not one, not two but three different manurfacturer of USB controllers on my motherboard along with two additional `low latency` (marketing w**k possibley) so for me putting devices installed on one set of USB ports into another can cause Windows or games to act oddly.

It also doesn't help that MSI haven't even bothered to label which manurfacturers controller is connect to which ports- so its sometime a game of `musical chairs` with USB devices when some get rejected or respond badly when the device is used.

I suppose this is my `reward?` for buying into the X99 platform as soon as it came out. :steamhappy:

I use a ANKER USB hub for my pedals and shifter. My PC wont start if the hub is turned on with my stuff plugged in so I have to turn it on when needed which is prob having the same effect as you mentioned.

The USB plugs location have not been changed since last night or even since I 1st plugged them in, cant see whats changed since i slept.

Real shame they cant find a fix. I cant be arsed to setup my controllers every time i want a race, its easier to just run a different game. They managed to screew me out of a few more $£€ in DLC before I uninstalled so they win i guess. Touché

Ah man this annoyed me with my X99A board, I believe the USB 3.1 ports on the I/O and the 3.0 header are ASMedia, but that probably varies depending on model also. Nightmare.
