I like MR cars, but for some reason, not for Mclaren...
Is it just me or their car is far difficult to drive compare to others like Ferrari and Zonda? Yes Mclaren is blazing fast on corner but at the same time its also blazing fast to spin out.

Anyone can help with this? Are there any tips to drive better?

It's all about throttle finesse with the McLarens.

I've noticed that when you driving some Mclaren like P1 and the MGUK(Electronic boost) is in [race mode], it will drives like a 4WD, difficult to enter the corner.

So, I'll rather keep the MGUK in [charge mode] and use it in the straight line.

McLaren's current lineup are very tech-reliant. They're designed to be driven with the Assists on, especially Stability Control. Running with SC Off can cause handling problems, and I've heard a rumor that you can't actually switch it off on the real car.

McLarens seem to have a lot of torque steer- this is compensated by the onboard computers but it makes the thing shimmy along when you boot it- even with TC fully on.

Apparanly you cannot fully turn off the assist on the real MP4-12c, even going through the 15 steps to disable it, its never fully off and claims are that the torque steer is so bad that McLaren would rather you keep it on.

That might explain things.

They seem to have very narrow margin for driving "the correct way", otherwise you start slipping extremely.

Not what I'd call a "driver's car" those..

MR means "mid-rear" for mid-engine rwd layout, not the Toyota MR car in this case.

I really do think modern McLarens are the type of car you have to let the computer do its thing- if you make any attempt to fight it, the car just feels numb and unresponsive from my experience.

Its the kind of car thats fast but likes to do the work for you whilst you just enjoy it, you don't have to work to push the car.

Which McLaren precisely? The P1 is awd and has tenacious grip. The downside of cars with tenacious grip is they tend to snap at the limit of traction instead of progressively sliding.

The 570 is stable, the 12C is a knife edge car that slides everywhere, it's great. If you learn to add a little slip angle to your corners the 12C is phenomenally fast but definitely not for beginners.

MP4-12c. P1 isn't so bad (except GT, it's worse for me) nor the 570.

The P1 is actually RWD, the tenacious grip comes more from clever suspension, aero, and electronics design. I could see how you might get the impression though, but of the hypercar trio, the Porsche 918 was the AWD one

Correct. It's worth mentioning that the P1 has some of the biggest rear tyres ever mounted on a production car, they even make a Countach LP5000's rears look average. With that kind of mechanical grip, backed up with hundreds of KGs of downforce and ultra-sophisticated electronics and chassis systems you get a car that can actually harness and use all 900+ horsepower.

And that's also why the MP-412C struggles by comparison. It doesn't have modern P-Zero Trofeo tyres and it's chassis and electronic systems are comparatively primitive. Even though it's less than ten years old, the Hypercar Space-Race has completely left it behind.

What do you think of the F1?
Varaosa Jun 11, 2017 @ 9:38am
Honda NSX is MR i guess but, sadly that is not that fast that Ferrari or Zonda. :3

The MR2 is a MR mid engine rear wheel drive and must be included in the game at some point.
