Can you not host your own race?

I went to the online portion of the game. All I could see was a server list os races already in progress. I didn't see a way to host my own race. Am I missing it, or is it not possible?

I was hoping to make a chaos race. Shelby Cobras with no traction, no stability, and no abs.

Yes you can.
In steam hover your mouse over 'library'
Then Select 'TOOLS'
Find and download the Assetto Corsa Dedicated Server.
Then checkout BRT Cobra guide, on how to create a server, and port forwarding guide.

So then if I run a server, I cannot play on the same computer correct?

If you watched the video, instead of asking questions, you'll see him joining his own server, which is hosted on the same computer the server is running on, feel free to ask him questions on his guide page or on youtube.

I run my server on my gaming machine and it cause no problem whatsoever. Some recommend you don't do this. I have also tried running it on my cheap laptop and again all was great. I see no difference between running it on my gaming rig or a cheap laptop.

Discussions are never dead on the internet. The question is valid as there are literally tens of thousands of people still playing this wonderful game. Is there a way to join your own server? I cannot see it even though I've forwarded all ports and created the server. Not sure why people get so hostile.

And YES, I spent hours "GOOGLING" and this thread is one of the only ones asking this particular question. 99% of every other post is about starting a server on a second PC.
