Returns to menu after loading a race
Seems like I'm not the only one with this issue, but the fixes I've seen haven't done anything for me yet. What's odd is that the game's benchmark seemed to run just fine, and I was getting a smokin' 160+ FPS to boot.

I'm on a new build, having played over 100 hours just fine on my old setup, so I'm currently going through a clean reinstall to clear up any jitters, which I'd hoped there'd be none of due to keeping the game's launch path identical (the hard drive I store my games on is D:/, as it's always been).

I'd like to know what can be done in case it's not functional when I've got everything redownloaded. All drivers and windows updates are 100% recent.

Specs:
i7-6800k
RX 480, 4GB
16GB RAM
Still on Windaz 7 Ultimate, not that that's the likely culprit here.

It was just using the GT86 the game comes with.

check your graphic settings, it usually is that...

Try this.

Go to your documents folder and delete/rename/move the assettocorsa folder- this will reset all the game options to default, uninstalling the game does not remove this folder, so it is worth noting this.

Verify game files via Steam properties for the game.

Restart game. Check resolution and video options are okay but change nothing else- just ensure the video graphics matches your desktop resolution.

Run benchmark, still runs until the end? Fine. Go to hotap, choose a car or and the selecte track, hit start see if it cures it.

Not cured? Post your log file (in ac folder) to official AC forums for devs to look at at assettocorsa.net

There are several reasons why it may no longer be working- some Windows update has caused a problem, grpahics driver, USB device or something else, you updated something that affected it, some needed files have become corrupted or maybe the game files have been corrupted.

Hey, should've have updated this last night.

Fixing the issue seemed to require some combination of deleting the assetto corsa config files and then retooling my graphics settings once ingame to have low settings and no anisotropic filtering. After I got it to load once, I went back into the settings menu and reset everything to my preferred settings, and it's all functional again, was able to play for an hour or so last night without issue.

Thanks for chiming in, though!

Yeh, that can be the solution for any configured option s that might be causing it to throw a wobbly when loading a track and removing the folder from documents is a good way to start the game fresh without having to reinstall it all again.
I have the same issue but for me when I press the start button it loads for a sec or something and then black screen with only the cursor...when I open the task manager the acs is mentioned as not responding...any ideas?
