Steering too sensitive
Just got the game but the steering is WAY too sensitive and twitchy, I use a 360 controller and I've tried messing around with the settings for an hour to try and find a good setup, best so far is everything at zero and gamma at 3.2. Anyone have any good settings?

Tried it, way better with those settings but still abit too sensitive for my liking, might just refund the game and be done with it.

Are you used to sim racing games or is this your first one?

Well, I've played Project Cars, Dirt Rally which are some of the more realistic car games I've played on PC cause apart from that I've played a lot of NFS games and Dirt games.

Okay. Those are both a bit more controller friendly up front, but I have gotten my xbox one and 360 controllers to feel really great in Assetto Corsa. Gamma can make a huge difference, as can steering speed. A steering speed around 60-70 is where I like it best, otherwise it feels too abrupt.

You dont buy a screwdriver to hammer in a nail...or maybe you do.
Its a simulator...would you drive a real car with a gamepad?

Wow, these settings work like a charm for me, I don't even miss my g27 anymore. This game is much better now, last time I tried it it was during the early access with a pretty bad computer. Now I can run it on Ultra with a gtx1070 and a i5 6660k, I can even handle the AI when I run the benchmark.

I have no idea what Phil Bowles is going on about. Kubro is a solid contributor on here and his config guides helped tons and tons of people back in beta days.

Anyway, I hope you find a setting you like and enjoy the game.

Speed Sensitivity 25%
Steering Speed 25%
Gamma 3.0
Filter 0.85
Deadzone 0.18

Deadzone can be underappreciated in it's contribution to a feeling of "twitchiness". Especially if your controller is not brand new.

Yeah well we don't all have hundreds of dollars to spend on good racing wheels, pedals and a shifter. I'm sure anyone would love to use them but they are not cheap so 99% of people are stuck using a controller.

I used to have one, and sold it. My previous desktop wasn't powerful enough to run assetto, and most of the time i was just too lazy to plug the wheel and ended up playing something else. The game works quite well with controlers now. Even if i still had my g27, i would probably play with my controller most of the time. I always felt the g27 was a toy rather than a real wheel...

I'm just looking at this because it came on sale and alerted me. I have the G27 setup. Will it work with the G27 or is it better with the controller? I'm no expert about anything. Just enjoy some game time. Thanks in advance!

AC is best used with a wheel. Controller will work but since AC is a simulator a wheel is highly recommended.

It'll work great with a G27 ;)

I wonder why they dont have these settings built into the game. Default settings are horrible, especially if you dare to take off stability control.
