One could argue that is what already happened, as tracks that used to exist are gone, and people miss them. Removing tracks has no benefit.
Unfortunately they needed to rebuild all the tracks, and that takes time. So we need to wait for more.
Some of the oldest tracks are the most beloved. And the reason many cars or tracks stick around for years is because people love them. For people who enjoy motorsport, it's not just about the new shiny.
I wish they didn't have to depend on their fantasy tracks to bolster the track list. But I guess we should be happy they exist because they do fill some voids. They are cost-effective for the devs, and I'm sure some people have a special place in their heart for them.
