You can just spend a day and design better Motorsport races with the current "Free Play" in-game tool. I even made a few Multiclass Endurance races my self already....
Like the part with the actual racing cars got cut.
Though maybe i'm giving them too much credit
You are. It's not excusable. There is no story. It's just a series with races with the same car. They have the cars. They even have the tool for creating races in-game. And still all they could do is pick some of the most outdated car models they had available for some of the slowest cars in the whole garage.
I tried to return to the cups, but the unlock paths are arbitrary and a big waste of time. I don't want to ride in random cars, I know what I want to drive. So I'll stick to freeplay.
I'm almost an entirely singleplayer guy for racing, but this crappy career mode made me start playing multiplayer.
This is like 5% of the old Gran Turismo and Forza careers.
Even the first Gran Turismo had more career content than this.
Tell me you've never played a Forza Motorsport game without telling me you haven't played a Forza Motorsport game. FM 3 and 4 had amazing career modes.
FM 3 and 4 was very fun to drive, not a choir. FUN is the key word.
There was such a huge calendar with so many races... Everything after it was just crap.
