Clutch
Am I the only one having clutch problems? when I change gear and release the clutch with a manual gearbox, there is a delay which does not give me continuity.

You are not the only one. Something seems to be really off about manual + clutch. They either got too overzealous with making stock transmissions really crappy to make the upgrade more obvious, or there is a bug in the game.

I'll go with number 2. It's not the first time the mess up manual + clutch transmissions on a new game.
Thx, waiting a patch, I hope

I used to play the older Forza titles with Manual + Clutch, but I got tired of messing up the shifting (by not holding the clutch button for the entire shift) so I just went with manual mode in this one (which is fine unless you're driving a car without paddle shifters).

For reference what car and drivetrain modifications are you talking about? I just started the Track Day featured series and the class C Subaru BRZ shifts incredibly slow, but my P class Toyota Supra shifts instantly.

No issues here. I absolutely love it. Still can shift fast with stock clutch etc. clutch in, no gas, shift, release clutch, gas.

I was at first, definitely bugged me but to be honest, I tested with it a lot and tried various tweaks to the deadzones but I think they just programmed it to be very sensitive in an unrealistic way. For example, in my actual real world car, I only need to apply slight pressure to the clutch and I can slip the car into neutral without harm. Then while I'm still depressing the pedal, I can already have the next gear selected, then drop the clutch as fast as the situation dictates.
However, in this game, if I slip into neutral without having the clutch 100% depressed, it will register it as a mis-shift and add a delay. After several hours of practice, I now have significantly less issues and am seriously enjoying the hell out of the clutch and this game in general.

It probably doesn't matter, but for reference I am still running my good ole G27 which hasn't let me down in longer than some of the reviewers for this game have been alive :)

They tried to make it realistic and not only specific to the car but also the "level" of the transmission. I don't use it at the moment, because it's not working as intended. Currently the fastest way to shift is manual with clutch without lifting the throttle at all and just banging the rev limiter like a madman on a stolen car. Watch these test starting around 0:50

Yea, to get to the top 20-50 places on the leadersbords you need to abuse it.
Or in online if you are against someone doing it and he has close to perfect lines - GG. It's significantly faster.

On larger tracks you can gain 1-2 seconds only from the shifts...

I have been paying a lot of attention to this issue and I think it comes down to the way they see an H pattern shifter. If you increase your field of view to see the avatar shift, with the H pattern the guy will shift from 1st gear, to neutral, to second gear. If i use paddles, the guy goes from one gear to the next. If you leave the car in neutral it makes the shifting sound over and over. It seems like with the H pattern its detecting Neutral as a separate shift, and if you wait for the avatar to actually animate shifting to the next gear, it works. Its ridiculous coming from someone who does actual IRL motorsport.

This is so WRONG , you must change it immediately , the worst thing i ever experienced in car/race/game/simulator !

Actualy i stop playing the game because of this.... and if not fixed the game will be just there for someone with joystick to play it :)

T10 claims the new update includes over 200 fixes. Crossing fingers they fix this. Although I highly doubt it, as I feel we clutch h-shifter users are the minority.

I won't touch this game until they fix this

I don't have much faith in them to address this either. It's a bug that has been around since Horizon 3 at least. Most people play Horizon with damage off so it went largely unnoticed for years. Now that we have real-ish racing with damage being a large part of the game this has to be fixed.
