How do you make money in this game?
I've played pretty much all previous Forza games for hundreds of hours and I've never really had issues with making money to buy the cars I wanted. Here and after 80 hours, I find myself completely broke and 90% of my garage is just the cars needed to advance the career rather than what I like. I always find myself with barely enough money to buy the next car needed for an event after I'm done with the previous one. Now with the endurance events, I'd need millions to afford all the cars and I just don't see how that's going to happen without excessive grinding.

Career races barely give 10-15k which is nothing for 5-7 laps and leveling up just a mere 35k. I've tried rivals and after 4-5 laps I get around 10-12k, about the same as the SP. I could increase the difficulty, but I doubt that'd be a huge increase in money and I can barely make it first starting from 15th place as is. Searching online the first thing that pops up is "buy the VIP pass" which I refuse to do. Any tips or is paying real money the only way? Otherwise I'm about to give up and uninstall, I think I gave the game a fair enough chance.

I dont think the game was ever balanced around buying upgrades, avoid doing that and upgrade the car as you go with the car level points instead.

Same experience, the grind is real. I played mostly multiplayer which made it feel less painful since you were a bit more involved during training session and the race itself obviously.
I sometimes played single player custom races or did the auto drive trick which was pretty annoying since the game had to be the active window, and I only have one screen.

I found career mode extremly boring and most of the money would be spent on cars I didn`t really like but had to use. I rushed two career modes somewhat later because I wanted the prize cars.
You pretty much always have to do extended grind sessions to afford anything with the base version of this game, let alone buying expensive cars.

I have been playing this game since it started and have tons of cars and credits of 10 mill. I have vip bonus wich helps heaps.
just dont buy any cars you dont have to use the ones you already have.
I enjoy the game alot and the bugs are mostly gone now.

They even lowered the income with the last update. For 30 mins of racing i was earning ~65000 and after the update it's around ~58000 now. That's with vip status. So i get roughly 100000 for one hour grinding. It's really pissing me off. I paid big euros for this game, so i want all the cars in my garage. I have 0 desire to grind this like a free mobile game. It was great in FM7 where you got one car per level up.

I also noticed that. Before each championship race + practice earned you 30-40k, now is 18-25k.
Why this ????

Credits in this game are tied to the amount of distance travelled. Even XP points to gain car levels and player levels are roughly tied to the distance travelled by your car. So in short, the grind is real.

It sounds like you probably have a lot of really low level cars and aren't getting the returns on them when you buy them. I always pick a car I already own if possible for career. Do some 30/60 minute endurance races in free play for fun.

Fine line between fun and grind, and it's mostly mentality. If you had all the cars you'd probably say you had nothing to do. If you like to race cars, you should just do that and money will come.

Idk how it is now but when i played the 'campaign' i think it helped i got the starter pack cars that i really wanted to drive.
I never really run into issuess myself. I only started buying more cars and such i dont use when i started multipayer.
I got a good carpark( after 700hrs ) XDDDD and 16 mio in the bank cause i really only drive p1, mazda and gt with the occasional touring. So thats how i do it. Very, very suboptimal. But its how i made it :D

Is it possible to start an endurance race hit pause and let the ai drive circles and collect while your at workj (or wherever the ♥♥♥♥ you are when youre not home or have a portable)

So for comparison, I been playing some Gran Turismo 5 lately. Actually makes this game look pretty good in comparison.

I'm currently looking at my top money earner there, 1 lap of nordschlife in Expert league gives me ~75k. Takes ~7:30. So 10k per minute if I power like mad. The AI is no challenge at all because my car destroys them even if I play terribly.

I need a race car to take part in the series I haven't finished and are available to me. They seem to run for over 3 million. At 10k per minute, 3 million will take 5 hours of straight grinding nordschlife, something like 40 laps. I could do other things, but it would take longer.

Have a Nascar series open, but the AI's on Daytona hit you and spin you constantly.

I don't have GT7 to compare to, but vs GT5, this game is way better in almost every way.
