Perhaps the people saying it sucks were talking about Horizon. Horizon is decent enough, but a totally different experience.
It doesnt even take away the job of giving each car its own feel, if you dont manually tune each car, a small Golf feels identical to a Bugatti. Even GT7 takes this effort away from you, making their small daily driver cars feel much easier to steer than their LMP or hypercars.
Also if you download a tune from someone you have to pray that they have set the FFB of the car correctly because you cant change the FFB of a car where the tune is downloaded.
I think that the people who tell you the game feels great with a wheel have never played a racing game other than forza.
Otherwise I suggest you to play Forza Motorsport with a gamepad and use a wheel only for fun.
I have to turn the AI down 1-2 notches if I go to controller, mostly because I suck with a controller. I definitely don't feel disadvantaged with a wheel.
In particular in series where tire life matters it seems the wheel can make a big impact.
No, it is a bit strange actually.
The game is primarily designed to be played on an Xbox. Most Xbox players use a controller. The fact that some have made it their mission in life to compare a console sim to hardcore PC sims is a credit to FM23 not a detriment. It's like comparing a Mustang GT to a Ferrari.
