Dec 19, 2024 - Jan 2, 2025: Steam Winter Sale (bigger discounts than autumn sale)
i would say as long as you have a good pc, which is also clean and not trashed with dozens to hundreds of apps, you should run this game flawlessly.
i haven't had a single crash so far in over 10 hours of playing. i've maxed the game out inlcuding maxed raytracing with DLAA at 1440p and i run it with 80fps avg (benchmark) and never drop below 60fps in races.
theres only one little problem technically FOR ME and thats how the game drops frames and stutters below 60fps when loading a track after the loading screen when the pitstop lane is shown with your car because the game continues to load in track details for like 15-20 seconds after the loading screen finishes. thats about it. otherwise it has been a buttersmooth experience so far and completely maxed out it looks insanely good.
the gameplay, as in the driving, is also spectacular. better than ever before in the forza motorsport series (i played them all since fm5). the game so far has been an absolute blast and is the most entertaining closed circuit racing game available on pc.
bought it in this summer sale for 50€ off and i couldn't be happier about it (so far).
i'm pretty sure most people voicing opinions on this forum are salty because they can't run this game with good graphics and without stuttering and/or crashing due to various reasons, mostly because their systems are full of garbage and completely unoptimized, regardless of the hardware,
BUT
also because this game is still super demanding AND definitely not perfect technically, but the devs improved massively compared to release.
edit: also before it starts i obviously know that everyone will be against me here for voicing THIS opinion because everyone follows the herd and the herd attacks this game for every tiny imperfect detail it has instead of focusing on the strengths so let me say this..
every single word i wrote is true and according to my personal experience with the game. i was super hesitant to purchase the game because of all the negative opinions, but ultimately i figured i would try it myself to see for myself how much of a POS this game has turned out to be and i couldn't have been more wrong as my experience with the game (so far) has been spectacular ;)
the penalty system so far hasn't malfunctioned even ONCE in dozens of races.. not once did i feel like i was unfairly treated by the game. the penalty system is amazing and motivates me to drive cleaner than ever before in any racing game i ever played.
the AI is awesome and apart from a handful of times they never crashed into me etc. (also you have the rewind feature which you can always use if by any chance something happens). the car progession system is better than i expected because i expected it to be the worst trash imaginable but instead it at least doesn't hurt and always feels nice to gain levels, so no issues with it here !!
haven't played the career so far a lot (only free play) and it definitely looks more plain and generic than the career modes in older forza motorsport games but its still good enough to be fun. i love the tiny details like no music during races to make it as immersive and realistic as possible, the rare voiceovers from your "crew woman". i also love how dynamic the ai feels, instead of driving one single line like in gran turismo (don't get me wrong, i still think GT 7 is the better game BUT its not on pc YET) they drive realistically and feel like real cars driving on racing tracks.
just wanted to tell you all my thoughts so far on the game, take it or leave it i don't care :)
edit2: one last edit to make this a complete, thorougly written and fair opinion instead of hate like most others do..
my system isn't even THAT great. i've a ryzen 5700x, 32gb 3600mhz cl16 ram and an RTX 4070 gpu. so its good for 1440p, but not that amazing of a system, yet this game runs flawlessly for me. oh my OS and all my games are installed on a samsung 990 pro nvme.
what a load of nonsense..
and now back to reality.. realistically if i didn't have a single bug in the first 10-11 hours this indicates that the game is mostly bugfree and in a good shape at the very least. even IF i should get one bug every 10 hours that would still be more than alright because games these days usually have more problems and bugs.
but as mentioned in my first post i knew all the scum will come out of hiding now and write something against my post because how else could it be these days right xD well, suit yourself :D
edit: you have over 2100 hours in THIS game. let's make it clear, you are a hater because the devs changed or broke something that was working for you. now you can't enjoy this game anymore and all you can do is mindless hate....
let's count through it.. you have 2166 hours on this game and the game has been out for around 270 days (give or take a few). so you played this game for 8 hours per day EVERY single day since release.
sorry to hear that you are a nolifer thinking you are something more/better than you actually are :D
There are a lot of good racing games out there at “why not” prices when they are on sale. If you want to go with something else it’s hard to go wrong.
That being said I’ve enjoyed FM since launch with few if any problems. Why some have issues, I don’t know, but you can always try the game out and refund it if it doesn’t work for you. When push comes to shove FM really is a unique racing experience unmatched by the boring GT3 simulators that really aren’t all to different from each other.
63 hours here, no buggs here. Only HDR implamentation and with the last update it became even crappier.
