Update 5 fps problem
I have 165hz monitor and before update i had 82 fps lock. Now any multiplayer event is locking fps on 55.

RTX 3070
5600X

UPD
Looks like it's a forced tripple buffering. I was trying to change HZ rate and with 60hz mode i got 20 fps in multiplayer. And i can't turn it off in game settings, at least i can't see any option for it.
Yes, i tried to reset all my settings to default and restart PC, driver is new.

UPD

I checked your post, didn't find anything about forced tripple buffering in multiplayer. Are you ok?

I doubt devs will check every unsorted comment in your thread. If you want to increase chances that devs will see your isuue — make a post on Forza forum as well, like i did.

Some guys on Reddit found that setting a display to 144 Hz will solve this problem.

cap is based on refresh rate, its not necessarily halving with higher refresh rates, only for specific refresh rates.

240hz will cap at 60 since 240 can be divided by 60, same is true for 120Hz.

the true cap i believe is 100 fps @ 100Hz/200Hz

240Hz = 60 fps
200Hz = 100 fps
165Hz = 82.5 fps
144Hz = 72 fps
120Hz = 60 fps
100Hz = 100 fps
60Hz = 60 fps

if you switch your refresh rate with the game open it will bug out, example - changing from 144 to 100 with the game open it will cut you down to 50 fps cap so the game must be restarted when changing refresh rates.

these results are from my personal testing and information provided from other people in various other discussions on this topic since early access launch.

So I doubt it nothing has changed unless you havent restarted forza after changing graphic settings

Yes, thanks. I was on reddit last night and looks like we found a solution. They screwed up v-sync somehow. Especially if you have 165hz monitor (i have no data about higher hz monitors), a lot of people with 165hz have this problem now. So the most simple solution — changing your refresh rate to 144 and you will get 72 fps. If you mess with settings a bit, you can make 165hz work again.

This is mostly correct, but not the 240Hz part.

I have 240Hz display, and game would cap to 120 fps in multiplayer. At least it was like that before this update. I haven't played online with Update 5 yet, will try this later today.

Let me know if you have any problems with 240hz, please, i need more data to send it to devs.

P.S. It's Windowsplease/DoubleKrisa from reddit, he-he.

Pawn, check out my VRAM usage now. The screenshot is taken 3 seconds before the game CTD.

No, it doesn't WORK. Like, the option doesn't work. You switch them off and 5 minutes later they are on again. The setting hasn't been working since launch.

I am having the same issue. If I try to run more than one race in a series, The VRAM usage goes to 90+ percent, and the FPS drops to single digits (then recovers to 20 or 30, and then single digits again) and will stay like that until I exit the application completely.

Running one race, exiting to home screen, and then re-entering series does not fix the issue.

Running one race, and then attempting to run a free-play event causes the same issue.

I have a thread on the Forza forums with screenshots of benchmarks after starting the game, and after trying to start a second race. After trying to start a 2nd race the fps is 24. Before any races, 60fps (vsync). Pretty sure it's just going to get buried and/or deleted over there.

I opened a help ticket, but if it's anything like the other ones I have opened, I'm fully expecting the whole "we're aware" and "marked as solved with no resolution" treatment.

I would say that Turn10 had their JV team on this one, but that would be an insult to junior varsity teams everywhere.

After the last update, the gamepad settings are reset every time. I cant use base settings of gamepad anymore...
citelis730 Feb 15, 2024 @ 12:59pm
I reset everything to auto and it locked itself to 57fps. Interestingly it's much better than 60fps lock that was feeling terrible. It is very smooth and removed completely the horrendous jittery feeling.

The explanation is probably simpler than someone can think: my monitor is 170hz so 170/3 = 56.66
