R9 5950x works best at FPS limited to 75

That removes the stuttering 99% of the time while racing. If the game is played without Raytracing and without DLSS in 2160p with the Digital Foundry settings with unlocked FPS ingame and FPS limited to 75 in the Nvidia Control Panel.

I just spend a some time figuring out the magic number, it wasn't 80 or 90 nah it's 75. Sure that isn't very smooth FPS wise. But the stuttering is gone and it's still more than the standard 60 FPS. After an hour or two i got used to the lower FPS. If i just let the game go freely going up to 100-110 max, i get annoying stuttering, mostly while driving turns/corners.

Windows 11 Pro 23H2
R9 5950x standard clock settings no PBO or anything
RTX 3080 (10 GB V-RAM) latest 546.33 Driver
32 GB DDR4 3600 MHZ RAM CL14 (B-Die)
Installed on Gen4 NVMe with DirectStorage active

Well just incase anybody else wonders to what FPS the game should be limited to, if using a stock R9 5950x. I am sort of okay with the result, better than stuttering all the time. This way the game is playable but still not enjoyable how it should be. They need to fix that horrible multithreading optimization of CPU's. It's ridiculous having a game in the year 2023 that only utilizes like 3-4 CPU cores instead of 8+ how it should. Forza Horizon 5 runs buttersmooth for me with up to 120 HZ in ultra settings in 2160p with DLSS Quality. Turn 10 should ask Playground Games for advice on how to optimize their game IMO.

When the topic is about stuttering, you DO. It's your thread. And I am just using the settings of the dude above who was claiming that his R9 5900X is bottlenecking him from having 60fps on a 3090ti, while on my 6800xt and R7 5800X I am getting smooth 60fps. So, it's not the CPU.

Well joke is on you then, cause if I remember correctly you were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on AMD around here. On my 6800XT I just have everything MAXED OUT except for RT which is off too. And with a weaker CPU I am getting no stutters at all and smooth 60FPS at 4K. Either way, it's not your CPU unless you are trying to do 120FPS@4K.

You are probably running out of VRAM on that 3080 and the game is having to swap memory. Very common on 8-10GB Nvidia cards at high resolutions. Many such cases. Forza uses 12-13GB VRAM on my 6800XT.

Edit: Checks out actually. Looking at this benchmark, the 3080 is VRAM limited even at 1080p. This will cause inconsistent frame timing and stuttering issues.

I tryed to tell him a few weeks ago but you cant tell him so i gave up and then he blocked me like i care he uses a macro, and he is pushing his gear to hard and blames the game

You probably don't know that games use a 2 GB V-RAM Buffer...

This hides the "hidden posts". But the script always takes second or something. If i block ppl they are truly blocked, but yeah it takes a second.

You know there is more than 60 FPS gaming and technologies like G-Sync and Freesync exist to be able to play with unlocked FPS right? In other games you don't get forced to lock your FPS to a low 60 or 75, because they are OPTIMIZED, Fm23 is POORLY optimized it's a real shame how bad it runs with more than 60 FPS.

60 FPS can't feel smooth even with triple buffering and V-Sync it doesn't look smooth.

Don't bother. He will keep explaining how he is entitled to play at 4K@120fps because it's 2023 all while he is on a 10GB 2020 card...People are struggling to even launch the game with far better hardware and here we are with this dude...
60FPS on my freesync monitor with AMD rig is perfectly FLAT smooth. His hardware is struggling and his frame timing is probably all over the place that's why he thinks he needs 300fps... But that won't make the stuttering go away because he is at 100% VRAM useage regardless if it's 30 or 300 fps.

With rhythmic frame drops. His card is capable of pushing higher FPS but the VRAM is not enough so it stutters when it overflows. That's why it feels "better" to him when he caps FPS at lower number. Because a frame drop from 60 to 30 is one thing but from 100 to 30 is brutal.

Bro, you are talking about a CPU that's not capable of keeping up with the GPU. As I called it in my post "Tetris". This scenario will be happening only on 4090 or 7900...Almost no GPU can run this game at 4K maxed at higher than 60fps without getting out of breath.

Oh and BTW your scenario makes zero sense, because these settings like rain, night, they are GPU related. It's your GPU that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the bed. The useage can drop from poor optimization not only from CPU bottleneck. You have to educate your self better.
The fact you are monitoring your GPU useage with Task Manager tells me everything I need to know really.

If you want to measure your CPU bottleneck, drop your resolution to 1080 in this scenario and see what FPS you will be able to achieve. Is your GPU going to hit 100% with uncapped framerate? If YES then you are GPU limited. That's why CPU benchmarks are never done at high resolutions.

You have no clue what you're talking about. There are a bazillion games and especially simulators that are CPU restrained and also related to that, memory (yes, RAM bandwidth...) bottlenecked.

Just stop talking nonsense about buttery smooth 60fps and "50%" CPU usage if you're clueless please. You don't want to confuse others with your BS.
