It's crazy but ppl seem to find things.
Grid legends is not remotely similar to this. Though it is a fun more pure arcade racing game, it's got a terrible upgrade system. It's had progression bugs since it launched, I don't know those are all fixed because I've still seen people complain about issues with that. But they are totally opposite spectrum really.
The original Asetto Corsa is okay, as long as you don't try to play in 4k (the ui does not scale with resolution, so it becomes incredibly tiny, and completely useless).
Lots of mods and cars, but that UI issue was a deal breaker for me.
ACC "LOOKS" better, but I haven't been able to tell for sure if the UI problem is solved, so I haven't bought it.
AMS2- Visuals are looking a bit outdated, and you will need a wheel to be competitive. Learning curve is also a bit steep. The car customization is also pretty limited.
Raceroom is also a game that exists. I bought it, and cannot for the life of me make it function with my wheel. It's also a pay-per-feature game, so although the base game is free, all but a small selection of tracks and cars are going to cost you.
iRacing- For the low low price of a real car payment, you can drive pretend cars. Nuff said.
I had really high hopes for this game, but between the technical issues, severely lacking single player experience, online goat-screw, and car list that seems to have been compiled by an intern with no interest in motorsports or automotive history- I am utterly and totally disappointed with the effort.
Maybe one day a development studio will come along and do a PC racing game that scratches the "simcade itch"- but it's looking more and more like that studio will not be Turn10. Like every other Microsoft game studio, they're just churning out garbage these days.
