Sounds like a skill issue
They don’t even use FEM solvers for their tire models.
If we are drawing arbitrary lines in the sand between arcade and sim, might as well just say anything less than the Moog Dallara sim is just an arcade game.
Sure there is varying levels of realism of sims, and FM isn’t 100% scientifically empirical but FM is definitely a sim.
Fzero GX and Wave Race are genuinely good racing games.
You can play them very easily on Dolphin emulator.
But yeah racing games nowadays often suck because they only focus on realism and completely forget about the fun. All of the fictional race tracks look super boring, because out of some weird reasoning I do not understand they all have to look like real life race tracks, instead of giving the player beautiful vistas to drive through.
And then there is the view obstructing car interior design where 70 % of the screen in first person view is covered with car interior and you see maybe 30 % of the actual race track. 🤢
No east european castles, no mountains, no futuristic architecture, no ocean side courses,....
Gran Turismo, Forza, and MarioKart
I shouldn’t have sold my GT3 a spec copy BECAUSE MY GT4 COPY DOESN’T WORK AND I DON’T HAVE ANY PLAYSTATION AFTER THE PS2
So ig I’ll play forza horizon 4 and forza Motorsport 8
I just want the only exclusive series the Xbox is worth it for
Horizon 5 is the only one that comes close to delivering, but then if fails in some aspects and overcompensates for it with nonsense. Unnecessary and detestable voice characters, goofy clothing items, nonsensical toy car maps, having to wait for years for the game to finally work great.
AC delivers in physics, but the game is completely barren in content, unless you mod it.
PCars is in the same spectrum as AC. The first one that is. The sequels get progressively worse.
Gran Turismo forgot how to Gran Turismo way back since 2004. It's more of the Real Kazunori Yamauchi "We take 6 months to fully model a car" Ego Simulator.
Forza Motorsports forgot how to Forza Motorsports since 2011. They graduated from the EA/Activision/2K School of how to push out a rushed, buggy, uninspired overpriced game.
BeamNG. This game is amazing. Too bad it really doesn't have much to offer unless you mod it. And still, it is just a physics sandbox.
The Crew. This is like a Great Value Forza Horizon.
NFS is FIFA on 4 wheels.
Yeah, there really isn't any. And I doubt there will ever be. Making these games is expensive and only a few companies can afford and have the experience on making them.
