Therefore, it makes zero sense to buy it on Steam.
I purchased the game on Steam, refunded it, then re-purchased it on a key site which I redeemed on the Xbox Store (saved €30 in the process).
The game remembered my progression and the majority of my settings also.
I did encounter a bug where all the cars I owned are now duplicated so I now have 2 of each car in my inventory - the game seems to think I purchased the premium version twice, which I kind of did, but its kind of annoying. When I select the "Steam" version of the car, the game says that I purchased it on a different platform, and I cannot use that version. So the duplicates are just sitting there taking up inventory space and can't be used.
To play this game online you'll need an Xbox account regardless of platform. So long as you use the same account, everything should stay saved in cloud.
I answered it pretty well. There's no point in buying the game on Steam if you'll soon get it on Game Pass.
It simply doesn't make sense.
Pretty sure he means that he already has gamepass but wants to buy the game
