I'd say if it wasn't for performance - this would be worth it now.
Just be wary - there are issues, big ones with both performance and stability. I'd wait if I were you, atleast until they're addressed. The game is CPU bound heavily so without six core CPU, I wouldn't bother.
It's fun, physics are nice for simcade, ffb is nice, sound is great.
No cons? There are! Performance is utter garbage and even IF you go for low settings and high fps... the microstuttering kills it.
But I've been having fun with the sloppy AI in freeplay on my own terms. The AI has its good and bad points. But overall I think they are a nice change of pace. Sure you will get hit, maybe a bit too much. But that is racing. I like how they organically make mistakes, something a lot of racing games severely lack due to how they are designed.
You can alter the AI's racing line, and make them suffer for it. While in many games they may avoid you when you defend, they often defy physics to accomplish this. While in this game I've noticed if you scare them off a line, they steer off course more realistically, altering their race to a larger degree. Fun stuff.
The game feels great on my controller, but I'm anxious for them to fix the game so I can play it on my main pc, at its full visual glory, and on a wheel.
But I am enjoying my time on my older pc on a controller until then.
