How "literally unplayable" is this without an SSD?
Yes, I know they're cheap, yes I know. I know. Yes. Thanks. But I was curious, if this does in fact run without one. Is it just long loading times or what? I've read that a Steam Deck can run it "adequately", and I have one of those.

Pop ins, bad performance, stuttering.

On the steam deck is flash memory/SSD. Not a HDD

yeah but i thought flash was worse than spinning hard disc was worse than solid state

Edit nvm. I missed the steam deck part.

I ran it on an HDD earlier. Depending on your setup, YMMV. Some stages had limited noticable issues. Such as Eaglerock performing perfectly fine. Barcelona has much more noticeable issues.

Here's the cockpit view.

For me i had 10-30 second load times (per screen, with 2 screens per race), so the load times were not really bad. But in game performance will vary wildly. Keep in mind, people on NVMe and SSD have loading issues depending on our luck.

Just dont run it with high textures settings and it'll be fine (besides long loading times).

I dont know why suddenly people seem to think they're completely unusable now.

it says "required: SSD". Required means you have to have it. That's probably why.

Tried it earlier and it was an actual nightmare man. Better off using an SSD.
