REVIEW from a long term sim racer.

Do not buy this game. You will regret it. If you are like me and have played many other sim racing games, such as iRacing AC/ACC and love sim racing. This is not going to improve the sim racing or simcade genre. This is not even simcade it is full arcade. Even Project cars 2 and GT7 are miles better then this trash. Hack IMO even as a arcade game Forza Horizon series is better.

THE GOOD.
1. It does have a FOV slider.
2. Replays maybe are slightly better.
And that is it for the good. Sad I know.

THE BAD.
1. Physics are absolutely appalling. They do not even resemble a car what so ever.
If you do a slalom test, the cars do not move or pitch as they should, there is almost no body roll. Even doing 160mph in a stock car then braking hard the nose of the car does not pitch forward as it should. The cars feel like something from the Flintstones. I could go on with many many more examples but i am not going to wast my breath.
2. Force feedback is awful even after changing many settings in game and on my Fanatec DD1. Anyone that says its good or ok after changing settings is lying. You can not have good or quality FFB if the physics are mediocre.
3.Another one is when you change the profile of your tires there is no visual representation that you did, they look the same. Plus if put new wheels on your car you can not change the offset.
4. Up Grading cars as most know is locked behind levelling your car up.
5. AI is as bad as FM7
6. Tracks. No Nordschleife plus there is just not enough tracks for a game that supposedly has been in development for years.
7. Poor optimisation even my 4090 struggles with this game. DLSS does not work. Maybe a driver update will fix it but do not hold your breath.
8. I have had multiple PC crashes.

THE UGLY.
1. The graphics are horrible for a next gen game. Everything is washed out. Textures are muddy and blurry looking. The cars look very cartoonish, especially after they get a scratch or some dust on them. On track they look nothing like they do when you view them in the garage, especially the AI cars on track, they look like they are from XBOX 360. Even in the garage some cars are not the best. Forza Horizon 5 looks way better IMO. Even the og AC with mods is better.

I had high hopes for Forza Motorsports reboot. I thought it would be some what like GT7 a good simcade racer. I was hoping I would be able to relax and play and watch some beautiful cars in replay mode. Then play some multi player with
some of my friends that do not have a PC to play the real sims. How ever i was thoroughly disppointed. I really hope that GT7 comes to PC so that can happen.

Come on man! Some mum mini vans can be pretty fast in a straight line with the right mods.
Most will likely handle like ♥♥♥♥ going around a race track, like all the cars in this arcade game.

I've played for 15 hours and I cannot agree on the physics and wheel driving being bad.

It's a MASSIVE improvement from previous iterarions and it feels really great IMHO.

Obviously if you expect an AC/AMS2/ACC competitor this is not your game

Thanks for the post OP, and sorry that all the fanboys are attacking you, this game seems really underwhelming and basically just a glorified update to FM7, which I regret buying back then. There's nothing special about it that makes me want to even buy a month of game pass to try it out. I was watching Jardier's stream the other day and he said basically the same things as you. Also collisions sound awful and the graphics are disappointing considering it doesn't run all that well, I guess that's why they didn't include RTGI. Maybe if I was a controller player I'd be more tempted, but with a dd wheel, I really value detailed FFB and see no reason to waste my time with it when I have AC/ACC/AMS2. I'd rather save my money for WRC next month.

Yeah do not wast your money mate. I guess my expectations were to high. As you said, almost everything in this game are underwhelming. It is very disappointing. I was lucky to get my money back from Steam. I will definitely be checking out the new WRC game.

Now I guess its time to wait and look forward to Assetto Corsa 2.

Yes I agree. I think if you play with a game pad then this game is for you. Also if you are happy with the awful graphics and game crashes, then its for you.

If you like to use a wheel most of the time, then you most likely will be disappointed.

Don't know what you call "a real sim" Forza Motorsport is a real sim, Gran Turismo 7 is a real sim too (yes I know you are shocked, but not me) Iracing is a real sim, AC is a real sim, ACC is a real sim, Rfactor 1 and 2 are real sim too, none of them are perfect, all of them have their strong points and flaws, and all varies in what we would call the level od fidelity (mostly in frequency of physical feedback update in real time, the most being often the best or most accurate)

Yes, Forza Motorsport is the worst sim of the ones you mentioned. It has the worst FFB and the lowest fidelity in frequency I have ever tried. Plus the physics are from the Flintstones

If you dont like the game why are you here? Trying to make sure nobody else likes the game? The ffb is a step up from FM7 right out of the box it felt pretty darn good on my CSW 2.5.The graphice are also a step up from FM7's drab bloue/grey look,they are much more vibrant and using native 4k or Dlaa sure looks sharp on my screen,but your opinion is noted.Beware though not everyone is such an elite sim racer like you.Most of us wanted a better FM7 and Turn10 delivered....

I haven't played it and wont bc of zero VR support but I believe every point your're making. I am an iRacing guy anyway but used to love Forza on xbox back in the day.

Tried to play FM7 on my rig when i did have a screen on it and it was terrible.

My setup consists of:
Fanatec DD2
Fanatec Clubsport V3 pedals
Fanatec f1 esports wheel

You're right, the FFB was absolutely horrendous in that lol
