Ye... With AMD FrameGeneration...AKA...fake frames 🤣
And a nasty input lag 😅
Maybe read into FG before claiming such nonsense haha
same setup here,
first two Races going well, FPS stable at 60FPS.
Next Race FPS at 30-40FPS.
After restart the Game the FPS are stable at 60FPS for one or two races then FPS drops to 30-40FPS.
Now restart again 🤮
You check vram usage ? it could be one of the causes. This game has excessive vram.

There's a section on Catalunya, full circuit, about mid-track where, after a long straight, there's a hard left, easy left, medium right. A lot of inexperienced drivers eat sand there. If you've raced it, you know.
When I drive there, frames dip from the flat 60 to 40-50. If you drive through the sand into the wall, it stays the same, even 39 frames at some point. Sit there if you like. It will stay in the low 40's.
There's also something about halfway down that straight that dips frames into the low 50's. Can't quite figure out what that one is, except that it's not the helicopter.
-----------------------
I'm on a PC and made a deliberate attempt to find this. I have a friend who is on xbox and he confirms something similar, and another friend who was cloud streaming, same thing.
There's no way I don't have enough processing to keep frames at a steady 60, especially if dropped to this super low setting.
There may be other moments on that track, but that one is so jarring when it drops that I wanted it fixed, I went looking, and that's how I came to this thread.
Knowing a little about programming and assets, my guess is you're actually looking at something that wasn't created right. Turn the car away from the asset, and the frames level out. Turn it back, the frames tank again. Maybe there's a missing semicolon somewhere in the asset and the game freaks out every time you look at it, kinda like a bad asset in a mod or something similar. If you go hunting, make sure you turn off your mirrors or you will be looking at two bad assets by the time you get to that curve.
I'm not saying I know for sure what's going on. What I am saying is there's something there. I've got one example that I think might lead to something. Probably something that happens in other places. Maybe someone with better skill and investigative acumen might want to start there, find something in greater detail than I can see. Maybe someone knows who to send a bug report to in the right way so it doesn't get lost in the ridiculous ignorant mass of "it's broked, refund me" reports. Then... maybe frames won't tank. Like I said, just my $.02.
This is an interesting write-up. I will say Nvidia's last driver update as of a week or so ago seems to have improved things. Looks like Turn 10 themselves launched an update today too, which I've yet to be able to test, but will do so here shortly. Glad this thread seems to have been helpful for the most part for those suffering from the same issues I've also encountered.
i already explained why that happens and also told Digital Foundry, if you put as they recommend Unlocked (Vsync) i will run at 100+ at first and then all of a sudden drop below 60...
i did a big post also showing on video, here's mine optimized settings than run awesome on 13900KS + RTX 4090 OC + DDR5-8400C36 (2x24GB)

After Update 1.0 it dropped 10 FPS
