6 Minimum CPU cores
I currently have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz 4.20 GHz, as it only has 4 4,2ghz cores I'm guessing I won't be playing this once it is supported on intel CPUs?

you can probably still launch the game but don't expect good performance

You can always refound before playing it for more than 2 hours. Let us know if you buy it :) I'm also wondering if it will run on 4 cores since i have i7 7700 but HQ version in laptop, paired with gtx 1070. I wonder if i would have decent amount of fps on low settings just to have fun.
which graphics card do you use? its more important
but cpu can also be your bottleneck
honestly, maybe. remember that online is limited to 60fps. cpus highly dictate framerate. You are below the recommended for sure, but you might be able to squeak by for this one. More good news, the lga1151 was a very popular socket. You can upgrade if you need to without needing to buy a whole new mobo, assuming you aren't on a laptop

Well crap.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm still on a 9900k. I imagine hyperthread cores don't count.

I shouldn't worry mate. I'm still sitting with a i5-4690K CPU overclocked to 4.5 Ghz.
Horizon 5 had an issue with world loading when going fast, but it wasn't often. I dont think FM will be that much more demanding. But yeah, GPU is going to make the most difference.

@Victrix, I'm running a twin looped water cooled Nvidia 8GB 3060ti,

I've refunded my purchase for now and will wait for launch and give it a test on gamepass most likely. Will update this post for anyone wondering how much CPU cores affect FPS.

I'd give less of a worry on your gpu. The games "recommended" is a 2080TI. So really any 20 series+ will run it fine on gpu end. CPU is what this game relies on heavy it looks like.

They have been working on tire physics so it makes sense they utilized multiple cores. The Xbox has a glorified moble phone processor so to make things more complex they had to use more cores. Ok only question is will the game delegate calculations to fewer cores? I guess we will find out.

You might be ok, no sense upgrading before you've seen it, good luck

Fast summary: i7 7700HQ, GTX 1070, 16GB RAM, SSD nvme PCI gen.3, all in MSI laptop - playable. Almost all settings lowest or off, but acceptable 40-60 fps in 1080p. Multi also playable.

i just wanted to add if you haven't figured it out yet. I have the same cpu with a amd 7800 xt. the game runs fine during races but the cut scenes are very cpu reliant. after ever race it will shut down while running at 1440p. I can play the game just fine at 1080p. The game is not very well optimized to begin with.
